Question Break-in period?

How long is the break-in period for the TL-S? What rpm should I keep it under and how many miles? What is the ramifications when you don't go through the proper break-in period? I'm certain whatever it is, it will be tough to do.

I'll be getting my TL-S NAVI, WDP w/Parchment interior in two weeks.

Read the Manual..........

Read the Manual and it states it. If I can recall it's 600 miles and try keeping it under 4k rpms.

I just finished the break in period on mine two days ago. Literally watched the odometer hit 600 and floored the gas padal just for a ceremonious moment. The car burst into action and raced to 70 mph. I looked back down at the speedometer and I hit 95 before I knew it. The car is very fast. Very fast.

My advice to you is to used a little discipline and wait it out. Don't rev it much higher than 4000 (O.K., I occasionally got it up around 5000 rpms, but very seldom).

I varied my speeds and kept RPMs under 3k for the first 1000 miles and did not manually shift - no matter how tempting!
