Brakes

Okay I really want a TL-S but this warped rotor thing is something I am worried about.

Do all these cars have warped rotors? If they do is there some rotor brake pad after market combo that solves the problem.

I really love the look of the car and I test drove one last weekend and the performance is great I love the power and handling...

But warped rotors I hate it... I have battling it on my Dodge Intrepid on my third brake pad rotor combo and they are warping again.

Anyway if you don't have warped rotors please post a reply too.. I am wondering what the % chance is of this happening to me.

well I can tell you. I have had my A-Spec for about 1.5 months and have like 3800 km/h on it. I took the car in just to have a little piece replace (had nothing to do with the brakes), and at that time, I had the dealer inspect the car up and down. They said that so far everything looks perfect. I made sure I was beside the mechanic when he checked the rotors, I do drive the car particularily hard, and he says the rotors look brand new still.

I guess I don't have that problem....yet!!!

Well, I think it has to do with the pads that were on certain models. I don't know if '03 models get all new pads or what...Since the dealer replaced my pads and rotors early on (like 12 or 15k miles of which 3 or 4k of that had issues), I've driven almost 25k miles without any issues at all and I'm driving the car harder than ever before...

I think that you'll find that a majority of the people on this site have NOT had brake problems. Just don't worry about... whatever car you buy will have problems... that's why they come with a warranty.. but the brake problems.... while some have had it... there haven't been that many many, more that haven't

Hey bro, if warped rotors is your major concern, then you should definitely get the car. I now have close to 40K on my TL-S and have already had my rotors turned twice. Our rotors do have a tendency to warp more often than many other cars. However, as long as the dealer is cool about it, I really don't see an issue. On my last trip to the dealer complaining about the rotors, he tried to accuse me of causing it due to the possibility of me rotating the tires and not torquing the wheels down with the right torque. I just flat out told him that's he full of **** and demanded that the rotors be turned. I nevered even took off the wheels. He said that even though there's a TSB for it, they are not obligated to fix it. He claims it's a "favor" that he's doing for me and that he'll charge me if it happens again. Well, I guess that was the last time he'll ever see me going there for service.
