Brakes........

Okay folks I have a dilemma. I'm going to be swapping my brakes soon and I'm having a dilemma on a brake system. Here is what I got:

Full Brembro Brake System

or

Brembro drilled and slotted rotors with spoon brake calipers with Endless NA-Y pads

I'm planning on gettin 19's later on so would the big brake conversion be considered also. Lemme know what yall think.

I also am wondering about this. I was thinking of ordering the 13" front brembo kit from here in the brakes section. It says must have 18's, will i be okay if I have 19's???

ther is only one brembo kit available for the tl, the GT setup. they don't have sport setup for the car.

and before you get it, you NEED to get a set of wheels (not necessary 18 or 19) that will fit the brakes.

these brakes are all huge, the calipers are way larger than the stock ones. without new wheels, which HAS to be high disk and also the correct offset, there is no way you can fit the wheels in. for example on the gs4, i have seen a lot of people with 19" and they can't get the brembo kit coz' their rims are not high disk or with wrong offset. spacers sometimes work but if you are over 5mm then it's a very bad idea.

so in short, you need to get wheels before you get brakes, and you need to get the right wheels to begin with.

I'm planning on getting the Advan Model 5 19x8 wrapped in Toyo proxies. I was just contacted buy a brembo dealer and they said that it will be a 12.9' upgrade. No price yet. Also does the whole kit come with the braided lines?

the kit will come with calipers, pads, rotors, and ss lines, but ALL for the front ONLY. you will need to pay extra if you want to get rotors, pads, and ss lines for the rear. if you get it from brembo directly plan to pay tax as well, headache headache.

the place i planned to get brembo from (i most likely will get ap racing now) in LA has cash no tax, and the price is also lower than the retail, what a nice deal

well as long as you are sure the rims fits it's cool, but like i said, size of rims and their offset has NOTHING to do with brakes fitment. with 12.9" setup, it will even clear 17" rims diameter-wise

go buy youreld a set of Brembo blank rotor $50 each slap on some Endless brake pads or Portfield RS4 pads and you are done.

Quote:
Porterfeild front Hot Street brake pads very high friction levels even at cold temperatures with no dust or squeal. This is the fastest stopping Carbon Kevlar road pad available.

he's talking about a full brake upgrade, including calipers (most likely to 4 pistons setup). it's actually very different from just upgrading the rotors and the pads. over 2k of investment right there
