Brakes and 19's???
Would it be a good idea, if I get 19's to upgrade my brakes not only for looks but for performance??? I have chosen a wheel fellas, but ive had a lot of people telling me that 19's slow you down...Also, that braking was a concern too...The rims im about to get are the Lowenhart BS5 super crystals...The Yokohama Kruezer Series rim is a very nice rim but its a +45 offset in the 19X8.0...It takes way too long to get and I want bling for that kind of money...What do you think I should do, get 19's and get crossdrilled rotors and new pads...Or get 18X8.0's and no brake upgrade...Shyne

Na, i can afford springs ho...Why do you think i just spent 350$ on bulbs...I cant drop my $hit right now because my rims are a friggen +39 offset...My $hit scrubs w/5 because I also have a 225/50 series tire...No point in spending 700 on toyo's, when I can get 19" Lowenharts for 2300$ w/tires foo...And yes i do have a hookup on Lowenharts because who do you think I bought my exhaust from...No these arent used prices either...Shyne

Shyne, where you gettin Lowenharts so cheap bro? I'll say this, I got 19s on my 540i ( not quite comparing apples to apples here) and I'm soooooooooo glad I didn't go 18's. I saw a 540 with 18's and man, my wheels look so much bigger yet they're only 1 inch larger in diameter but visually looks like 3 inches, weird. Make sure you take lot of pics playa playa!

19s slower? Bah! Not if you are getting high quality rims. My 19s + rubber weigh less than the stock 16s + rubber. So . Thats not to even talk about the drastic handling improvements the 35 series tires give. But I hope you are ready to slow down your dirving foo -- 19s can bend damn easily if you hit a big bump going to fast! Happend to me. Plus you gotta tilt your mirrors down so you can see the curb anytime you back up. And be careful cramping those wheels - get to close to the curb and you cramp into it! Happend to me too.

Hehe, well I bent the front right rim on a huuuge bump (see pics here) and I scratched the same rim cramping my wheels too much when parked too close to a curb. The dent was mostly in the lip and the curb scratch was a light one and also only on the lip. In both cases the center piece was not damaged, though (as you can see in the pics) the dent pushed the lip right up to the center piece -- close call. Anyway, I paid a guy $90 to polish the scratch out and fix the dent. Atleast both damages were done to the same rim.

hahaha, You are not allowed to get the BR5 in silver... you arent a baller to get them, but i am!
Seriously I like the BR5 better. Although I never seen the BS5 in chrome 19s, so who knows.
