I would do it every 15k miles for the transmission fluid.

Question changing tranny fluid??

does anyone know if tl-s has a valve body....in other words... is there a filter that has to be changed besides tranny fluid?

No filter you can access - it is internal.

I would change brake fluid every two years - regardless of mileage. Brake fluid deteriorates not from use, but from the fact that it is hydrophilic. Just sitting around, it picks up water from the vapor in the air.

If you are lazy and or cheap, here is a tip. Get a basting tool, and remove half a pint from the master cylinder each month. Brake fluid slowly ciculates through the system, and this will continuously remove and replenish the fluid.

I still recommend a proper drain/fill/blled every 2 years - that is what I do with all my cars, and never have brake problems.

ABS units are very expensive to replace, so this is cheap insurance.

The tranny? Every year. It is so easy to do, and these trannies have been very weak points.

Here's another tip I posted here ages ago - go to the ABS accumulator (it is on the left as you face the engine, with lots of tubes coming off it). Carefully remove the screws holding the little plate on top of the reservoir. Carefully siphon out this fluid occasionally, refill with Acura brake fluid, replace the cover.

It is also a good idea to "cycle" the ABS once a month - find a spot with some loose gravel, and stand on the brakes. Keeps the valves moving and limber.

Stick with the Acura brake fluid - DOT 3 and DOT 4 are slightly different in formulation, and it is best to stick with what the mfr recommends when it comes to brakes.

If you autocross, you will need to replace/bleed the brake fluid every month or so.

In that case, consider ATE brake fluid - it comes in amber and blue colors. Alternately, switch from amber to blue - when the color changes as you are blleding, you know you have replaced the fluid. Saves some time and $$ if you bleed brakes a lot. One caution: the blue dye can slightly color the plastic reservoir on some cars, so caveat emptor.
