Post Brake Rotor Survey

How may of you have had problems with warped brake rotors?

Mine are starting to suck at around 20K miles. Who's had good luck with new pads/rotors?

Had the same problem. I went to the dealer and they fixed it for free. The mechanic that was working on my ride, said that they will cut the rotors two more times, after that they will replace them. I just home that it doesn't go there.

I warped mine at Watkins Glen last year after a few laps at the time i had about 6000 miles. The dealer fixed them under warranty but now it feels like it is coming back very minor though now I've got 22,000 on the odo.

Has anyone purchased new rotors or pads to address the problem?

Warped mine at Summit Point back in March. It got real bad during hard braking after several hot laps (had to fight the steering to control the massive vibration). Weird thing was after the event, for the most part there is no vibration during normal or occasional hard braking. There is some vibration only after the rotors are heated like after sustained hard braking.

I'm just waiting for someone to come up with some decent rotors for the TL.

So it's a bad idea to go to car washes if we don't want to warp our rotors huh?? I've brought my car to car washes a couple times after drivin' for a while. I hope this doesn't mess up my rotors. *knock on wood*

I have had no problems at 11,000 & over a yr of ownership. I just took the car in for an oil change last week. The dealer sent me a coupon on the computer. This was oil change with free brake inspection & tire rotation. I told them don't do the rotation but check the brakes. I have had no problems with this but I told them I was getting a little vibration from high speed braking. They checked & said everything was fine. They told me to bring it back if I had any problems. I never had problems with brakes on any of my cars. My last car the 94 Accord when I took it in for its 30,000 mile service The dealer asked me did I even use the brakes. I do not hard brake unless I have to. I also do not wash the car when the brakes are hot.I also try to stop aways back from the car in front & inch up a little to keep the car from staying in one place. I always try to plan when to use the brakes & never run close up & hit them hard. I always try to use them gently. If there is something wrong with the rotors & it happens to my car then you will be sure it was a defect.

Hey Danny!

Wanna meet up this weekend? Got the new tires on and am ready to see what my mods will do against a stock TL.

Let me know if you're gonna be around. I should be all around all weekend.

I just got my warped rotors fixed at park Ave Acura under warranty. My steering wheel has been vibrating since a little over 40K miles. I finally got it resurfaced at 49K miles. Everything seems to be fine now.

So no one here has replaced the rotors with better, higher performance parts?

Do the cross drilled rotors tend to warp less or more?

Me too at 14K miles, haven't gone to shop yet as it's a pain in the *ss. Soon, though.

So - are the rotors just paper-thin to begin with? Kinda crappy if you ask me!

I have 16k miles, and mine are warped as well. My car is at the dealer getting fixed as I type this right now. With this many people having warped rotor problems, should there be a tsb on this? Maybe even a recall (doubt it, since it's costly) Could we justify warped rotors as being a safety issue?
