Brake replacement question
Do you have to resurface rotors when replacing the pads ?
I called couple of dealerships to get price quotes and one of them told me that they don't resurface (and don't recomment to do it) and it's ok just to replace pads.
Another one told me that you have to resurface when you replace pads.
So, I'm a little confused, I appreciate any input.

You dont HAVE to but for the extra few bucks its a good idea. Your pads have cut groves in to the rotors and when you change the pads out the new ones will cut a diffrent patern of groves in the rotors. By resurfacing the rotors it allows the pads to start fresh and may eliminate some vibrations you would get during braking. Thats my understanding of it.
