Brake pads replacement. Where to apply anti-squeal paste?

I did enough search on the forum to find answer, but I could not find clear answer.
As I am planning to replace my brake pads, applying anti-squeal paste will prevent causing the squeal sound, right?
When I did search, people said apply the anti-squeal paste on the back of the pads. Which side is exactly the back of the pads? inner side where the pad touches the rotor? or the outer side facing to caliper side?
Also, after using a c-clamp to compress the piston, do I have to bleed the brake fluid little bit in order to let brake system to recognize the new pads to work properly? Sorry.. I'm a noob.

Outer side!!! so the pad can stick to the caliper to stop pad movement when the brake is not being applied.
