Brake Pads
i have Axxis Ultimate and its time for new pads and was going to buy them again im happy with them but they are very dusty so i wanted to know what pads do anyone recommend over these

Axxis makes a good pad. If you're happy with the way they work, stick with 'em !
Any pad is going to give off residual dust from normal wear. The biggest difference is in the actual color of the dust. If you drive hard and long, the build-up requires more frequent cleaning to keep the rims looking good. The ceramics and titanium pads are not as dusty appearing, but it's a hard thing to prevent.

brake dust comes with good braking
best way to beat it is remove the wheels
wash both sides of rim really well and dry fully
apply 2-3 coats SYNTHETHIC car wax- it has 100 degree higher melt point than carnuba wax
slippery surface makes it harder for scorching hot brake pad material being flung off the pad/rotor to grab onto the rim.
Once a first layer is there, it sucks up road dirt and more brake dust!!
for awesome/unreal braking ability with low dust= I like RacingBrake brand- ET500 pads
more a mom drives it around town car? ET300 pads

I HIGHLY recommend EBC products. I especially like the Greens for the everyday driver with spirited driving inbetween.

You cant go Wrong with EBC!
Tried RedStuff and YellowStuff.... I Actually have both Installed right know (Since my Fronts Decided to Last Less) Reds on the Front and Yellows on the Back it Feels wayyy Nicely on the Corners! BUT You can Tell just by Dust where is the YellowStuff XD...
RedStuffs comes to Little to Non-Existant Dust... In the other Hand YellowStuff seems to come with a little Sahara Included.

oems ftw I got wagner and they great but I think they installed my rear pass off a tad cause under heavy and hard braking it makes a lil scraping noise kinda sucks just makes you not want to rag out ya brakes

hey 2.3 ck the inner side of rear rotors for wear- if half rusty and half width is clean= the pads have a 3rd-middle raised tab issue-
which is hitting the piston first- causing pads to run crooked, only get half contact to rotor, causes shake and noises
they are the wrong pads for the TL,, but listed by many makers as fitting (those are RL pads)
grind off the offending tab-flush- or get brand with correct number of them~

The Best all around pad ive ever driven. Its my standard pad and i love them.
DONT do any hard braking for a few hundred miles. Drive them nice and easy. They have a bed in coating on them. After a few hundred miles then you can do an additional bed in if you want.

I was told by the shop that installed my rotors, pads and brake lines that I'd be better-served by EBC RedStuff pads over the GreenStuff due to the weight of the TL so I had RedStuff pads installed. They've been great pads - pretty low noise and have great braking power.

Red Stuff is great, they do take a little bit heating to get them to grip. But once they get heated up they bit very very hard. And very good wet weather performance.

I think protege has the 3rd raised tab on inner rear pad issue
thats causing the piston to contact the tab first
result is piston deploys pad crooked against rotor- only half the width of the pad is in contact with the rotor!!
get on the brakes hard and it really shows as a problem
easy visual ck is look at rear rotors inner side
half rusty and half shiny across its width = you have the 3rd tab problem

after trying dozens of pads i would stick with OEM. i would definately stay away from ceramics, they are harsh on rotors and have very little bite the first 50% of brake pedal travel. EBC greens and Hawks HPS give you a nice +~5% torque but it's not worth the loss of initial bite in my opinion (for street use). for track i would use something like hawks ht-10. i would worry more about rotors. stay with blanks or slotted if your really want that look and get good metal - brembo blanks have been awesome. no warping 25k miles so far.
