brake light on dash won't turn off!

I get in my car half asleep this morning and I start my car, take the parking brake off, put it in reverse to back down my driveway, and I notice that the car won't move and that the brake light on the dash is still lit. I try applying and taking off the parking brake about 20 more times and the brake light is still on. Finally the light goes off by itself after about 5 minutes, but now everytime I press the brake pedal, the dash brake light lights up again and turns itself off again after 30 seconds. Is my emergency brake stuck or are the brakes not working right?

I had to drive from Hattiesburg back to Louisiana this morning and I was scared to death that my brakes would lock up, but the car wasn't acting like the emergency brake was stuck anymore but the light still lights up when I press the brake pedal

The emergency brake locked up on my old Miata and the tire caught fire from the emergency brake being broken and I didn't want this to happen in my TL, anyone had something like this happen before? I made a service appointment for tomorow so hopefully they can fix whatever the hell's wrong. Thanks guys

most of the time when the brake light stays on with the e-brake released then the brake fluid level sensor is telling you that the fluid level is low.....or you just might have the brake level sensor that is going bad....

hope everything is okay by tomorrow

either the parking brake is sticking or you have a bad sensor causing it to stay light

Brake Light

It's a sensor. I had that broblem with my old CL. (01) It had to be changes twice by the dealer. They know about the issue.

Service records from dealer..

This is what went wrong with the '01 CL:
the master cylinder float and filter.

parts: A 46662-S84-999 and A 4666-S04-J02

Again, my 01 CL had that problem in the mornings. After driving for approx 10 mins, it would go away. HOWEVER, it would also come on when letting off the brake at times. So, it's not a huge issue, but it's probably best to get it fixed.
