Brake fluid question (DOT-3 or DOT-4)?

I'm going to install my SS brake lines this weekend and have one question. According to the instructions in this site, he recommends the DOT-4 brake fluid after bleeding the system. My friend suggested that I go with DOT-3. I know that DOT-4 runs on higher temperature. Would that translate to better braking power? He says since DOT-4 runs at higher temperature, it might have a higher tendency to boil under hard braking and heat up the brakes too much resulting in fading brakes. What do you guys think?

Stick with the Honda Brake fluid. Read Road Rages recommendations for brake fluid here:

You should really buy the Honda fluid, not just any fluid. I hear Acura and Honda have problems with any brand fluid other than Honda's.

Jeez, Tuff, you have been my protagonist lately! I think I should have you talk to my boss at perf appraisal time! Thanks for the vote of confidence, and let thyat be a reminder to all that using the search will get you a pretty decent answer, esp. since Tuffgong cannot possibly do the work for everyone.

BTW, I just got a cool bleeder from Griot's Garage - it is a floorstanding pumper with reservoir - you put the fitting over the caliper bleeder screw, pump up the extractr, open the blleder, and IT SUCKS! the fluid right out. I did the brakes on my Outback in 20 mins - BTW, i used DOT4 - that is what they recommend.

No problem, give me your boss' number and I'll give him a call. In regard's to my vote of confidence in your post's, well IMO you know what your talking about. Simple as that .

About the bleeder you purchased from Griot's Garage. Did you buy the one for $188? (I think it's the only one they sell). That must be very nice to use, a quality vacuum bleeder...hmmmmmmm Very nice.

Uh uh - $60. It is an Asian-sourced unit - I wouldn't spend $188 for something I used so infrequently, no matter how much of a boner factor it might have. It also works to pull out brake fluid, oil pan overfills, master cylinder, clutch cylinder - very handy.
