Talking Bought an 03 TL-S yesterday in Toronto!

Wax Question on Bottom!

Picked it up last night. Bone stock, I like to do stuff on my own, the dealers just seem to be a tremendous rip off.

I had the 02, but had to send it back to the US because the Canadian gov't (customs) would have given me hell if they found out I had it here. Plus, I wasn't insured while driving it here.

All things considered, I think I got a good deal. While I got absolutely nothing thrown in, the car cost me $40,050 Canadian, which is about $25k in US dollars.

Problem is, here in Canada you get raped on taxes...

I had the 02 for about 17 months. When I looked to get a new car, I looked at the A4, the Jag X type, the Maxima and a bunch of SUV's (RX300 and Infiniti QX4)

They are all good cars, but I wanted my TL-S back

It looks so awesome right out of the showroom. I almost forgot what a good wax will do! Now I need to go out and get me some Zaino, though I'm really looking for something that doesn't come with 6 pages of instructions. Any suggestions?

Laurelcrest, you actually bought it in Brampton. I too bought mine @ Acura 2000 and this is a great dealership.

And yes, here in Canada we are raped by taxes, however, the benefits of healthcare publically funded appears worth it.

The TLS MRSP is about $41,000. Does your TLS price include taxes. And note, on an exchange basis, we get a better deal on cars than those in the USA.

PS, with the cold weather, how the hel can you wax the car?

So I still don't know what a kote diamond package is.

The cost of my car did not include taxes (doh!)

I want to get a body kit, but don't think I can afford it yet... what are the prices?

I want to get a spoiler, anyone have a good idea where to get it done?

I want to get tints... is Tint King any good?

Oh, and I live in a condo with an underground garage Though it can still get hella cold down there sometimes... it worth it to have a shiny car!

Hey Tatewaki,
I'm interested in picking up a body kit too, but not right now... probably in the summer some time. I have a friend who would be interested as well (but we're both low on cash right now b/c we spent it all buying our TL's recently).

Haha... maybe we can all have a body kit installation party for our TL's

That's Cheap as hell! I got my 03 TL-S with navi, with rear spoiler and front lip spoiler, sunroof deflector, and mud guards for 32,600 US before taxes. What's the differences between US and Canadian Specs?

diamond kote package includes paint shields, sound shields, rush proofing, leather shields....

basically they are leather guards and clearcoat protectant and rust proofing...

i recommend them all coz the clearcoat protectant does well on the paint and u don' t need to wax at all...

if u do them all it would be about 800-1000 if u bargain for a gd price...

they didn't ask u to get all these stuff after u have bought the car??

Tatewaki,

I can't believe you haven't got that bodykit yet... I find it ironic for you to do all these mods to your car and leave the kit for last. Oh well, better late than never, right?

It was a balmy 3 C (38 F) in Windsor so I decided to wash my car on the street. Yes, there's snow everywhere but this will probably be the last time I'll be able to wash my car (by hand) at my house until April. (I normally take it to a coin-op and use the water to wash the salt off but use the mitt & Zaino to thoroughly clean the car)

Car looks GREAT (a week of salt!). I don't know very much about the "diamond kote package" that you are referring to (probably a T.O. thing) but Zaino keeps me happy.

My $0.02.

Welcome to the club Laurelcrest (the CANADIAN club . Now you need to change your location !!!!

If you guys are interested in the KIT try Woodbine Acura. That's where I got mine and also Derricks.

I know Derrick. I can't even explain why I didn't do the kit first. I regret not getting it when I bought my car. You still didn't put on the cleared headlights?

First things first --

Laurelcrest -- what colour (not 'color' since you now live in Canada) did you get? If you have a darker colour, then Zaino is the way to go. There's a place in Guelph that is an official distributor you can mail-order it from. I don't know where to get it in Toronto (I think TLS RULZ knows where...) but there's a place in Windsor (4 hr drive from T.O.) I pick it up from all the time. The modified Zaino instructions can be found on this board using the search function, if you are wondering. If you have a lighter colour (eg SSM, WDP) then you'd probably be best with Klasse or Meguiar's Gold Class. Those can be found at Canadian Tire.

Tatewaki -- I will not install the cleared corners until the spring. Don't feel 'inspired' to take my bumper off until it gets warmer. I don't have a heated garage like some of the other board members so I will wait. Also bought some JDM badging from ValueTL so that will be a stocking stuffer for myself. I'll debadge and rebadge in the spring.

Mine's black. I'm looking for an alternative to Zaino, something easier to use and faster to apply. Suggestions?
