Body Kit Install New York

Ordered my body kit yesterday and getting it next week. Can't wait!! I know people on this site have been saying all along to DIY but I just dont feel comfortable drilling holes and plus I dont got the time. So can any suggest any good body shops to get this done in NY? And whats a fair price to pay? Input would be appreciated!!

you can install the side and rear, If you have splash guards installed before, all you need is make 1 addition hole on each side, there is already a little dimple in the plastic part already. You don't need a drill or anything. You take the very pointy screw that comes with the kit and drive it into the dimple using a screw driver. That makes the hole. I have instruction from acura for the rear, I'll email it to you. Then sides are so easy that I can just describe it to you. Then you can have them install the front for you and save a lot of cash that way.

Where did you get the bodykit from, and how much did you pay for it? Im looking to get one soon, and hoping that since the 2004's are coming out soon, that our bodykits will be discounted. Hopefully I'm just not dreaming.

Hey,

I have a 2000 tl and am looking to get a body kit for it.
I would consider getting a used one. Do you have any advice and how much would a good deal be on one?

HZM82 was very helpful in giving me the info for getting the bodykit for my car. Cheapest I found on that kit anywhere. Ordered it from 1-888-RAY-LAKS. They are actually an Acura delaership in upstate NY and got the whole kit painted and shpped to my house for $832. Their website is HOND********** just add the www before and dot com after. As far as the bodykits going cheaper, Im sure they will but how long are you willing to wait... I wasn't. I got the kit shipped to my Dorm in Jersey so this way I can save myself the tax or else for people living in NY tag on another 80 bux or so! Still not bad.

Fo some reason the website wouldn't let me post it but if you email me at NYDESI80@aol.com I will give you the info, but you got the number so just call. And Bxscig, I guess I'll let you konw where I get it installed eventually but I live in Long Island and Queens border... so I dont know if your willign to come from Brooklyn like that. Im still not sure what would be a good price to pay for the labor!

Damn...too bad I'm not in NY right now...right by Desi's are a(I'm guessin he's in the Glen Oaks area?).

I would have had a bodykit install day and installed all your bodykits for a very small fee for my time.

It's really really easy guys...real easy.

Question

Guys,

Do you have the phone number for Paul Petrone in Bayside?

I have a OEM style aftermarket spoiler I want to install on my 99 TL.

Know any other places in Queens/LI?

Too afraid to DIY!!!

I got my kit from RAY LAKS Acura also 1-888-RAY-LAKS. Fast shipping..free too and all for $831. Couldn't believe it..did the install myself. Piece of cake..limited drilling and saved myself $275 from what Acura wanted to install it!

Bro, it's not hard at all. I was the same way you were in the sense that I didn't want to drill holes in my car. I ended up doing it myself with a friend to help hold it. It was soooo damn easy to do. Save your money and if you need any help, let me know.

I called Tom From Bellevue Acura and he "who has installed one himself " and assured me that there is no drilling need...I called 2 other Acura Dealerships who confirmed his statement. so I do not know what the deal is maybe install easier with drilling.. but you can call Tom yourself as he is the one selling the kits for 399.00///so that what I found out///it even says that on the acurapartspeople.com web site/// good luck I am installing mine next week..

He (NYDesi80) has a 03 TL, The front require drilling. You're talkin about a 99-01 kit and even on those, the rear requires drilling small holes if you didn't have splash guards on before. There are dimples already on there and all you do is drill it using the screws provided. SO yes all the kits requires you to drill.

yeah the front and the rear near the splash guard is dimples just take the screws and screw them in frist then put the silver inserts and they will lock even tighter, and the fron requires drilling and it is a total of 10 holes if i remember....
