Arrow Body Kit Clearance w/Factory Springs

I took a tape measure out into the snow storm and measured the unofficial clearances at various points of the "empty" car (with the under body kit). The low point seems to be side panels at the inside of the front tires.

According to "jens", Park Avenue Acura has put the CompTech springs on a TL-S with the body kit, and they had no problems.

ZodiacTL says the springs lower the car abuot 1 1/2". This would bring my unofficial mesurement height to 5" clearance at the lowest point.

What do you guys think?

If you do go for it - you will have to be extra careful. What are you going to achieve by lowering you TL-S - better looks. I doubt handling will improve by much. Moreover, looks are better only for Car Enthusiasts. Most people don't even know what a wheel gap is.

Hi Jon,
Thanks for those measurements. This is really informative.

Were you able to send those pictures I've been looking for? Maybe you could post it on this board if you don't mind!

Thanks,
Dan

Excellent information! Maybe one of the moderators should put this info on the TL Type-S informational page?

good info. Helps make or break the decision to get the mods. Not sure it would be wise to get the mods in Chicago. 5 inches of clearence isn't enough for some of the pot holes we get here in the winter.

As soon as posts are done I'll move this over to the FAQ section. Nice work Jon!!!

Got a question for you, how is parking over those concrete barriers in front of some parking spaces?? Can you clear them? Just wondering as one of the places I work at has a parking garage with those things in front of every space, and I have no choice as far as parking goes. And how is it pulling into the spot and backing in??? Thanx if you can answer this question.

Exclamation

WAIT!

Before you add this to any archive, let me redo it. I can make it look alot better. Plus, I'll be able to get more accurate measurements.

Jus wait until the snow stops!

So far, I have yet to impact a concrete barrier, though I have already parked in a few parking lots with them.

Next time I see one, I will actually look to see how close I am coming to them.

I WILL post the results!
