Everyone knows what the outcome is! Well I was heading to work and I see this purty car in the rear view about two cars back. I thought it was a S2K or something, then it passed me. Gosh these cars are even more beautiful in real life. I sped up and gave him a thumbs up, he just gives me this wicked grin and just punches it! The car sounds wonderful, kind of hard to explain. Almost like a germanized mustang or something. Well he takes off and I'm in 3rd in ss trying, again trying to catch up. It's like all traffic just moved for him. I was doing 110 and he was still like 10 cars ahead of me. Gosh I want a M5 soooo bad now!

Wow see in CO it's rare to see a car like that. We have alot of Audi A6's and Bimmer 5 ers, but nothing like a Z8.

one of them walked into walgreen with greasy hair and teared up shirt, trying to buy a coke but was short of change... I gave him a nickel and when we walked out, I saw him hopping into the Z8 ... I was like... DANG!

The other one was a stupid b*tch stopped in the middle of major street (on Hollywood Blvd) operating her top...X@#%&@(

the other just zip by...anyway, I'm not a fan of Z8

I think I've seen them here in Bay Area about 5-6 times...but they were all black...

oh and I forgot to mention that during that same hour I saw 2 Viper and a 996 turbo...I'm sure there were other nice cars too, but I wasn't paying attention no more...

Saw one in Pasadena area with a Euro plate on it. And one in the dealer. The dealer is charging $300K for the Z8. I ask the sales did anyone actually bought it. He said the dealership had sold 3 of those with all cash paid.

I drove past one myself a couple of months ago. Spotted it a long way up and almost got into an accident trying to catch up to it.

It is beautiful, but for what they're selling them for, I'd buy a Ferrari hands down.

For a Z8 @ sticker, I'd buy a 360 Modena, for the inflated price of 300K, I'd but a 550 Maranello.

I think the Ferrari 360 actually came out on top in a three way comparison along with the Z8 and the Aston Martin DB7 Vantage.

It was either in Car & Driver or Motor Trend.

Nothing like the wail of a Ferrari engine and dreaming of the prancing horse in my garage.

Uh... um... ahem.... damn, I have to go change my underwear again.

Even at sticker, I don't put this car in the same class as a Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc. Especially when you can get the same engine in the M5.

Make mine a Ferrari please.

I made a deal with myself a few years ago never to buy ANY car for over sticker. And while some BMW dealers are selling the Z8 for MSRP, many more are gouging like tgif said.

Last weekend was the Concours de Elegance here in Monterey, and it was like a millionaire's cruising strip on the main street in downtown. I have to admit, I saw so many Ferraris and Lamborghinis that they became routine. The one Z8 I saw really stood out. It was a 2000 model and had a for sale sign in the window with an asking price of $130,000.

When I reach that point in my life when I can buy an exotic sports car, it's going to be an NSX. Of course I may have to balance that with my wife's lust for an SL600...

Start saving your pennies. The next generation NSX will go significantly upmarket in price (approximately $145,000).

Smack into Ferrari 360 territory. As much as I love the NSX, they've got their work cut out for them if they are going to sell this as a pure exotic competing with the Ferraris and Lambos of the world.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the NSX, but between that and the Ferrari, you all know what I'd take a 360 Modena in screaming yellow.

But then again, Honda never intended the NSX to be a money maker. It's a rolling technological showcase.

Yes, I've been saving pennies for quite awhile now. I have heard rumors that the new NSX would actually come DOWN in price to make it more like the old Supra turbo or 3000GT VR-4, but more substantial rumors that say what you said--that it will move into the mid $100K range. In some parts of the country that much money will still buy you a decent house!

That being said, even if the NSX cost $300K, I would still lust after it over the Italians. I fell in love with the lines of that car the first time I saw it, and I literally swoon still every time I see one. I've never driven one, but I hear that it is the most "driveable" super sports car ever produced. I've peeked at the interior and think it is an ergonomic and engineering design marvel. Aesthetics is a personal matter, but I feel that the NSX is darn close to automotive perfection.

I have been fortunate to drive one. It was definitely fun and ranks high up there with other memorable moments. Like the time I took a Pantera for a spin.

I would never pay.........
300K for any car.... now if I win that damn powerball it maybe different. **** if I win the powerball I will buy everyone in here the car of their dreams. Now back to reality again I will never buy a car for 300K with my hard earned money. It's just too much. My limit has got to be around 160K and that's as high as I go. Why so much for a vehicle that will soon depreciate? My main interest is real estate. My dream garage? 02 TL-S(winter drive), 02 M3(summer drive), 02 LX470(family hauler, wife mobile), and a S2000 for the mid life crisis that will soon arrive!
