LEDs

So these LEDs that you were trying to get from this slacker company are the only ones that will work well, and you can't find anyone else that carrys them? And the LEDs you put in so far were just samples and all you could get. Is that the problem?

My buddy gave me these links to try out, have you tried them?

http://www.dialight.com/elec.htm

Jeez you should tell em how much money they stand to make from Acura and Honda owners if they'd just fill your order.
Tell 'em they're about to lose one of their bigger potential client bases.

led.net = LEDtronics = the company that I've been tyring to get these from. The other place, dialight, doesn't seem to have any blue LEDs with wide enough viewing angles.

But, its ok because Netdisty finally came through and my LEDs shipped out today! I got all the 3mm and 5mm LEDs I need, except they were unable to get me the 4 and 6 chip LEDs. They said even if I meet the $500 minimum order that it could be a 3 to 6 month wait. Hopefully the single chip ones that are coming will work almost as well.

I can't wait to finally get these! Plus with the indiglo gauges almost done and Streetz sending me my console soon... I've been kinda depressed about my car and modding it because EVERYTHING is taking so long right now, but it seems to be picking up again!

Oh, and Austin, you are not welcomed in ANY of my threads. So don't post in any of them. You are a waste of my time.

Hey Nate, good work!!!

From the pix u showed, it looks pretty nice except the angle problems of LED.. what about other parts? Have u done them yet? got any more pix?? I was kinda confused... did you change the light bulbs insides the dashboard or did u paint the pieces of plastics things blue so the light comes out blue?
Thanks.

I didn't paint anything, that will make it very dim. Chekc the AV6 forums for pics of that. I used 2 test 5mm LEDs. I should get the rest of the LEDs next week. Lets hope the 3mm ones work well (bright enough, etc), I haven't tested them yet!

HEY IM NEW TO THIS SITE, NATE HAS A LOT OF WORK AHEAD OF HIM DOING IT THAT WAY. ITS EASIER TO PUT A LARGER VALVE POT. FOR THE DIMMER SWITCH. THIS WAY ALL U HAVE TO DO IS SOLDER THE LEDS IN PLACE AND IT SHOULD BE FINE.
I'VE BEEN THINKING OF THIS FOR A WHILE. I GOT THE IDEA FROM A VW.

NATE LET ME KNOW IF YOU THINK THAT WILL WORK.

Possibly... you are talking about replacing the dimmer switch with a potentiometer to take the dash light voltage down to where you don't have to use resistors, n'est pas? That might work!
