I want to try this out... clean and protect with BlackFire, then try to lock in that look with Zaino.

1 - do you think it will work?
2 - will Z1 be needed or just go straight to Z2?

This is all pure speculation on my part: IMO, it would be better to just use one or the other. The whole point of both Blackfire and Zaino are to achieve long lasting coats by bonding to the paint and to each sucessive layer. Each type of Zaino is probably designed to bond to each other and not Blackfire. Blackfire isn't designed to bond to layers of Zaino.

Both brands recommened claying the car so the polish can bond to uncontaminated paint. If I were you I would clay the car first before you start anything so you have a fresh base so to speak for the polish. Then its up to you I guess on what to layer on what. If you do decide to go with a base of Blackfire then you probably won't need a coat of Z-1 and you can go straight to Z-2. Tell us how the results are .
