Question The Big Suspension Question

Hey everyone, I am a new member of this site, and the proud owner of a brand new TLS. I am ready to lower my ride, and I am planning on 18's in a month or so, and my question is simple...Which springs are best for my ride???..I want a decent drop, nothing under 1 inch...Any and all suggestions would help alot...Thanks

If you don't want anything under 1" then you better get the H&R OE springs. only a .75" front and .5" in the rear. Or a lot of ppl prefer comptech springs, 1.5" front and 1.25" rear.

TypeSDragon, you've got the correct info but in the wrong place...if he doesn't want anything under 1" (meaning he wants a larger than 1" drop) go with the Competch Springs like TypeSDargon said...if you do want it to be under 1" the go with the H&Rs.

Sorry about the correction TypeSDragon...I just wanted to clarify.

I also have 18" rims. I'm planning to lower my car soon. I also want to use comptech springs. How low can i drop the car w/o the wheels being rub against the fenders? The shop i had my wheels done at said i should use H&R.... Ehat do you guys think?

CKacura, the rubbing could be because of the size of your new wheels, too (width, offset).
FLAcuraTLS, I would also recommend the H&R Sport springs. Very nice even drop of about 1.75. The wheel gap is even front and back, where as the Comptech will give the rear wheel well more gap for a "raked" look. Matters what you prefer. As for ride quality, the H&R OE are slighlty more sporty/stiff than stock, Comptech and H&R Sport are even a little more so, and the H&R Race and Eibach ProKit are even more stiff.
I hope that helps. Check out the 'suspension' tab at the top of this page for more info.

Comptechs are nice with a subtle 1.5 inch drop.
Congratulations on the TLS and welcome to the board. Look forward to checking out some pics of your car.

Springs

I first put on the Hn R OEs and the drop was minimal! I then put on the HnR Sports and wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It looks really mean! I have the stock wheels and there is just a slight bit of rake. Friend of mine used the same Springs and went with Racing Hart 19" wheels and said he wished he would of got the 18"s. Too much rub! (Check out Racing Harts 5000 Zs non chrome) Pirellis 235/35s. It's a great look espec on the Satin Silver. Good luck! Mitchell Type S Satin Silver W/ HnRs Sports and window tint .

Most people on this forum either went with Comptechs or H&R Sports. Both are available from this site, and both give a very nice drop.

I bought the H&R's because they were a lot less expensive. I love the ride and the drop!

Do a search for either set and you'll find lots of discussions about both. Welcome to the site!

Thumbs up Hn R Sport Springs

Yes the price was great! $179 for the shocks, and $120 for the install! Best $300 I ever spent!
