Dylan, of course people are going to be biased.

I happen to think my 3G is superior to your 2G in EVERY way.
- more power
-six speed
- looks (subjective) but you gotta admit, the 3G is one of the sexiest cars available.
- suspension

maybe the 2G is better at being a "luxury cruiser"
but, I do have the same and if not better features than you.

the 4G TL is superior to mine in driving dynamics. 6MT with SHAWD is a beast.

you only like yours because you own a 2G which was given to you.
Cant beat Free.99

I never got a free car that i fell in love and think it's the best. But whatever you make out of it.... must means you worked hard to get where you are at. Parents must be pretty strict if you had to be 18 to drive and get a car. I was 15 1/2 when I got my license and 16 when i got a car. And I worked my butt off for it as well. Finished college and paid all my college tuition myself. I had no parents to support me, so take your money into futher education, it'll pay in the long run while your parents are funding you college.

The 3G TL's win...... just look at the 2007-2008 TL-S and come back and tell me it didn't win your eyes.

Me too !!!

But it all depends upon a person's individual preference along with affordability. Each of the specific gen TL's have their own strengths and following from gen to gen. Sorta like grandparents, parents and kids. No spouses or inlaws !!!

But, I'd get the 3rd Gen's last year next time around. Better tranny's. Tighter styling. Well ya know !

But, I would look elsewhere for the money on the newer last 4th Gens. Personally hate the beak and iffy stuck up styling. Better looking cars out there, maybe not as mechanically solid...but ya can't have it all, imo.

Lol weird ass thread.

Luxury styling wise the 2g wins, our type s wheels are pretty sexy for stock.
Personally i never liked 3g's without the oem kit because they look funny and bulky. 07-08 tails look way better than 04-06.
4g's are pretty darn sexy with a kit, wheels, and a drop.

When I bought my 2nd Gen in 2001, I WISHED it looked as good as the 1st Gen. I still think 1st gen looks the best, followed by 2nd, 3rd, and barf, 4th.

The bias should make into account here.. but in all seriousness for me..

In looks: 2G > 3G > 4G (The 3rd gen is too short and looks like a Civic with Steroids, They correct it with the 4G)
The styling for the 3G is also weird its just not in the norm of Classic Luxury cars such as; Mercs, Bimmers, Audis, Etc.. The 2G hands down beats it in the Styling department the 3G looks like a Civic and I´m not joking here.

In Performance (STOCK and Handling into account): 4G > 3G > 2G obvious here..

I have driven a 3G but I cant stop feeling is odd doesn't look like a Luxury car at all, Its a sports car in all its glory... I would skip the 3G over a 4G any day of the week just for its sheer size, I want an old cruiser look not a teenager car..

^and thats what I love about the 3G. It's sporty.
If i wanted a truly lux looking car, I would have bought the RL.
but I'm not a grandpa yet.

^ I´m not a grandpa either but the RL was slower than the TL and to this day still is, So it was a deal breaker back in 2002...

The RL is a very "Grown Up" car for me.. It looks very good but it does´t have the "Acceleration" I´m really looking for.. The TL is still faster at the expense of some "Dignity".

I have been thinking about getting a 2G RL and swapping everything to make my TL-S AWD... It isn't impossible but I´m just daydreaming here.

While I like my 2g, the 2006-7 3G is the one I would love to have.
If not for the tranny I would LOVE my 2g .

factory to factory i would choose the 3G over 2G

but "hellaflush"-ed out, i would choose 2G. theres something about the old school acura styling with the lines and just enough curve on the edges that make it the last of its kind before the honda/acura modern beak nose funky tail light square exhaust wide body-ness

I love my 2G as far as styling but I will admit that every time I see an 07 3G, I want it. That will be my next purchase. The 4G looks like a retarded spaceship, and while i am sure that it is very nice, it looks too stupid to be seen in.

From someone who has owned all the gens. 2001, 2004, 2007 TL-S, 2009, and 2012 TL SH-AWD, the 2012 has been my favorite for comfort, handling, sportyness. The looks after upgrading it now, make it much better, but I have always loved the way my 2007 TL-S looked.

But out of them all, the 2012+ has been the best especially after the upgrade to the facial.

which makes sense.
as a company you want to improve your products.
I suspect the TLX will be a winner as well.

3G FTW!! Eventually i will get a 2008 TL-S, hate the looks of 4th gen, and won't bother with a 2nd gen with tranny problems.

I love big body sedans. With an OEM kit, no wheel gap, flush offset wheels, and clean paint, the 2G TL wins hands down in terms of looks.

Most modern technologies can be easily retrofitted to the 2G too (dual screen nav/dvd, bluetooth, better sound system, sound deadening, etc).

I'd love to have a 3G TL 6mt or a 07-08 TL-S, but I gotta say, I think the 02-03 TL-S have the coolest, most sporty & aggressive looking front end of any of them. I like later years of 3Gs with the separate foglights much more than the early 3G front ends. From all other views, I like the 3G better, especially the rear ends.

comparing 02-03 to the 04-06 front end.. 04-06 lacks a bit.. it does look a bit sportier.. thats about it

3G>2G>1G>4G. I never thought I'd own anything Honda but the 3G always looked sharp to me. 2G the CL looks better than the TL, nothing offensive about it but very boring looking. 1G no care ever. 4G is hideous, only looks good from certain angles when properly modded.

4G is definitely not hideous. Only because you have a favorite doesn't make it bad. Especially the 2012+ models. I had a 2nd gen, 2 3rd gens, and 2 4th gens. This has so far been the best car I have owned, and best looking after I fixed it up some. I still loved and miss my 07 TL-S though but I no which are better built and is a better car and it's the 4G 2012+.

2g's are awesome since there is a jdm version, whereas 3g's and 4g's don't have one.
