Best Service Department in NJ

In anticipation of my tranny melting down, I'd like your thoughts on which dealership's service dept. has got their act together re: the tranny situation. Please base your replies on:

1. Ability to accurately diagnose the problem.
2. Were they familiar with the problem?
3. Amount of time your car was out of service.
4. Did they provide you with a loaner car?
5. Were you satisfied with the work and customer service?

Thanks in advance for your help!

No offense taken...

...I had been lurking for a l-o-n-g time before I registered.

I assumed Park Ave. would be near the top of the list. Was more curious to see if others in NJ had experience with other dealers. My default is Park Ave. even though they are a bit of a distance from me.

My problem is getting there when (notice I didn't say 'if') my tranny goes. Thanks for the post!

There are plenty of dealers around where I live, but I still go to Park Ave. Not only do they have the best services, but most importantly they know what they are doing. I let park ave install all my suspension parts because I know my car is in good hands. So in other words, if you need service do right, made the extra effort and just go to Park Ave.

I'm in NY, and when I decide to take the plunge on my Comtech Springs... Park Ave. will be doing the install. Their service is next to none, and it's work the 50 min. drive just to have them do it.....

Where in NJ do you live? I'm in S. Jersey so I might have another dealer that can help you.

I bought my TL from Montclair Acura but I go to PAA for all my servicing. They are by far the best around. The extra drive will be worth it.

i'm in central jersey (middlesex county). do u know any dealer (other than park ave) will install aftermarket parts like AEM or comptech? otherwise, i will call tom (park ave service guy) to schedule an appointment for the cold air intake installation & 15.000miles maintenance & maybe comptech sway also. damn! the 15,000 maintenance costs $199.

NSXNEXT - I live in Somerset County (Central NJ). The closest dealers to me are:

* Bill Vince Acura (aka Bridgewater Acura)
* Acura Princeton
* Acura East Brunswick (place of purchase)
* Acura Clinton
* Acura Montclair
* PAA

None of these give me the warm and fuzzy nor have I heard raves about any of them. I'll probably go the PAA way. No one has anything bad to say. Do they???

Who is the S. Jersey dealer?

I'm in Central Jersey area also and purchased my car from Bridgewater Acura. Well... I personally don't like their service base on the following:

1. Staffs are not friendly.
2. All problems I had they always said that's normal.
3. Technicians treats your car carelessly. (I got scratches everytime I brought for service and last time I got a pretty big paint chip on my hood.)

Now I go to Brunswick Acura for whatever I need. They are pretty good; at least compare with Bridgewater Acura. Just give you some suggestion, it's really up to you.

I'm also in Middlesex.... I live very close to brunswick acura (about 5 min away) but I bought my car down in princeton.... Went to brunswick first but they didn't seem to ready to talk business.... (ie work with me on the price) Went down to princeton the next day and they seemed a bit more willing to work with me... so I bought there. (although seeing what some of you have been paying, I think I should have worked on that price a bit more :-) )

Went back 2 wks later to have spoiler put on (bought car w/ spoiler, but none in stock). I was one of the first apointments in the morning (7:15 I think) and they had me on my way to work a bit after 8.

All in all, not bad service... I have no complaints.

The South Jersey dealers are Sussman Acura in Maple Shade and Classic Acura in Turnersville. Sussman's shop is actually at Burns Honda in Marlton. They sent my friend there for his work to be done. Sussman isn't a very good dealer. I think they scratched up NSXNEXT's body kit but claimed it was already damaged when they put on his springs. I don't know much about Classic but would suggest trying them. A co-worker bought his TL at Precision Acura in Princeton who gave him a good deal because he was out of their normal buying area.

Actually Burns Honda scratched up my kit. I think I was the guineau pig for Comptech products there. They all looked quite puzzled when I pulled up with springs and headers for them to install.

Thanks for all the replies. Sounds like a couple of you had positive things to say about Princeton. That's pretty close to me. Is there someone in particular I should ask for there?

kchao - I agree; had similar experience with that dealership during sales cycle.

I had the same experience with Brunswick Acura when I tried to purchase the car. That's why I ended up with Bridgewater Acura. But Brunswick's service team is much better than their sales.

I know. Burns Honda is the service center for Sussman Acura. You told me the story last summer and I tucked the info away clear enough to know I would make a 3 hours trip to PAA rather than deal with a service center that would deny rather than rectify.

Back to the original question, I think you have better odds of being taken out by a soccer mom in a monster SUV rather than your tranny going. Just drive the car.

Interesting topic on the NJ dealers. For my teg, Brunswick Acura made a very good deal with me, easily beat Princeton.
For my CLS, Bridgewater was terrible price and deal wise, did much much better at Montclair.
For service, been to Brunswick, Bridgewater, Montclair, Princeton, and PAA.
My Acuras have all been reliable, so at all of these was just oil and general stuff. Everyone's staff seemed fine, never left with more problems than what it went in for, no new scratches but I never let any dealers wash it. Had PAA do my comptech parts though, only ones at the time, very satisfied and well worth the hour trip.
