I would like to know the best race stories people have had with their new TL-S. I have only had one race experience with it, and it was no contest. Honda Civic Si or SiR!!! I am getting the feeling that everyone loves the new ride and we should all share the speed, I mean the experiences.

The only intense race I had was with a 99 maxima going 90mph in a 35 mph zone. Very stupid of me and probably never do it again. But yea, I ripped his a$$ and handed to him.

This should give you some confidence in challenging something faster than a Civic.
So far I have two that were a real blast.
The first was a BMW M3 Roadster. I was doing 75-80MPH and he came out of no where blasting past me. He was coming up on traffic and I caught up to him. We were able to clear the traffic just as we entered a toll booth. We exited the toll booths together, I let him make the first move. I quickly moved next to him and comfinued to ever so slowly pull away from him before I shut it down around 115MPH.
What a kick!
The second wasn't quite as thrilling. It was a (1998?)Totoya Supra SE. He came flying up behind me and got really close as he came around. We came up on a light and I was behind him. He nailed it on green and I started to pull around him and fairly easily pulled away. I was doing just over 80MPH and had easily 1-2 car lengths on him.
BTW - I did get the jump on a TransAm, but I'm sure it was because I set him up. By that I mean I caught him in the TL-S sweet spot. Just leave it in D5 and hit it at 30 or 50 and it really takes off. Or you could do it manually and keep it in any gear around 4500-4700RPM.
Have fun, but don't do it in traffic. This car will get you in trouble because it's deceptively quick. - RUF

Was that a BMW M3 convertible or an M Roadster? In either case, the only way a TL (even a mighty TL-S) could beat it in any performance category is if the Bimmer driver sucked! Don't get me wrong, I love Acuras, but TL vs. M is an unfair race!

This is the Z3 with the M engine. Not a 3Series M. That said, the new TLS can take most older M3s. Assuming they are not modified. I've known several people who've owned M3s and most older ones where running 0-60 in the 6.4-6.5 range. Forget what the tabloids said. This was real world with real drivers. Not cars that were preped for the test and with top notch drivers.
BTW- I love going up against manuals because 90+% of the drivers don't know how to launch or drive a manual to its limits.
Also, don't let the 0-60 advantage make you believe that the TLS loses on all points.
This was a run from around 50MPH to over 100.
Lastly, results will vary from test to test.
You will probably see a plus or minus result of .4 up or down for either car. This means I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see TLS' running any where from 5.9 to 6.6.
Then add other variables and most of these cars are too close to take an absolute position on who's faster.
I used to be an old drag racer and I've found this out over years of experience.
Missing my 1964 Malibu SS. Highly modified of course. :-)

I was getting on the fwy today and was coming to a stop for the signal on the on-ramp. Coming up behind me was a new Lexus LS430. He was behind me and then changed to the other lane at the last minute. I was stopped waiting for the signal to go green. He was still moving when the light changed. I punched it and left him way behind. He was trying to catch me but he never did.
