Talking BEST investment i ever made!!!!!!

I just finished installing my CompTech sway bars like 10 mins ago and I can tell you it was a snap. It only took me 2 hours to put in. Ohhhh what a difference it makes. I installed my springs first and I thought that made my car handle better, springs are NOTHING compared to the way CompTech sways make your car handle. It feels like my car is literally planted with almost no body roll. If you don't already got them get them, you wont regret it.

hey 2k2,

I was wondering hows your HR OE springs working out for you? Currently I have comptech springs but im planning to switch them out for HR's cause im planning to order an oem kit so i need a higher clearence. Are you having any sagging problems in the rear? And was .75 an accurate estimate how low your car drop?? Also how much clearence do you have no from the ground with your front Kit? Do you every scrape? (i.e w/ppl or curbs)? One last question, how long did you have your HR springs on your car? THX.

My next mod will be comptech sways too!

When I did my M5's suspension I did the same thing:

#1, springs and shocks, good improvement
#2 camber plates (1.9 degrees negative) HOLY SH** the car feels 500 lbs lighter!!
#3 swaybars--huge improvement and finally no more understeer

OE springs are great, nice ride. Little bumpy on rough roads but what spring isn't? Sagging does appear, i have about 1.5 inch gap in the front and 1 inch gap in the rear. It seemed to drop about .5 inches or one finger all around. clearence in the front is still very high, it only droped about .5 inches from stock and OEM kit doesn't lower too much, also about about .5 inches lower w/ kit on. NEVER ever scraped a thing even going stright up driveways or speed bumps, even w/ 5 ppl in car. I have had the spring on for about 2000 miles now. Hope that helps

The sttering will be much precise and tighter after the upper strut bar is in place. I have the sways first then the strut and I corner like a motherf#$#.

Oh ya, huge difference. I slide under the car after it was down and was able to use my torque wrench to tighten them and I have the H&R Sport springs. If you needed to you could use a jack to lift the body a few inches and then slide under and tighten them as well.

I'm thinking of getting the strut tower bar...

I just put Ebock springs on last week. The ride, well, I would not call it better then stock. This is the first time I have ever dropped a car and I was expecting great things, I think I'm a bit disappointed. The car looks a lot better but tends to feel more "springy" now. when I put my 18" wheels with Yok ZR tires, the handling came alive. I found a new problem today. I had a few passengers in the car and the rear passenger side grinds like crazy (with one it would grind just a bit). I have 225 40 18"s and am very surprised at this. The rear drivers side has absolulty no problems. Anyone have ideas why one side grinds to hell but the other is perfectly fine?

You're rubbing. More than likely just the plastic tab part of the fender well. Just trim that up, or have someone do it for you. Oh yea, and follow my #1 rule always. NO FAT CHICKS in da ride!

If your rubbing with people in the car you have one of two problems or maybe both. 1) offset of the rim is too low 2) rim is to wide i have 235 35 19 with a 19x7.5 in rim and 51 offset and drop if .75 and i dont rub at all even with 5 people

Naw, it was the plastic clip. We cut the plastic clip and it now works perfectly fine.

Question Questions about your Comptech Sways?

Hi, sways are my next investment other than fog upgrades. I was going to go with Comptech too. I also was going to purchase from this site. My question is how much do they add to the weight of the car do you think, and where did you get yours? And what lubrication were they packed with? I ask that because there were some posts way back about some sways from Comptech or a distributor that came packed with Teflon tape and some came with some type of special grease. Seemed like there were real inconsistencies with several owners as to what came in there box. I just want to make sure I get what I pay for and I know from experience that sways need some special lube or they squeek. Let me know please. Thanks-

I put them on myself and from what I can tell they are maybe 3-4 lbs heavier then stock each. (I didnt put them on a scale so thats just a estimite)
I got mine on this web site. Best prices here and helps support our site.
As for the lube I got the grease and the teflon tape included.
