Best Exhaust?
I'm going to be getting an exhaust system, yet I want to know the advantages/disadvantages of each exhaust. I would also really appreciate it if anyone with an aftermarket exhaust to tell me their comments on it as well as it characteristics - such as sound, vibrations, and anything noteworthy.
Thanks

Welcome...
Easy, there are a lot of people on this site who will tell you that it's Comptech hands down... The comptech exhaust looks very similar to our exhaust but is very noticeable by its looks and its sporty sound... If you want to get an exhaust for your TL, your best bet is probably axle-back... Im seriously thinkin about tha Thermal exhaust and was surprised to see that its offered on this site... Well good luck, it all comes down to individuality if you ask me...Shyne

you can find the A'PEXi's at the company website at www.apexi.com. navigate to the exhausts.
mine is surprisingly quiet...it has a low sound and doesnt become noticeable until wide open throttle...it's hard to tell how much power the exhaust gives since i put in the cold air intake at the same time as the exhaust...i know there is a noticeable increase in power and torque since there is a noticeable increase in torque steer from a standing start...but i attribute it more to the intake me thinks...
exhausts, i think, used to be for high end power and to some degree still are but manufacturers have been designing the piping layout to increase torque which helps with off the line acceleration and a meatier torque curve along the mid range power band...

I currently have Comptech and when I first got it, I was annoyed because it was louder than what I expected. But now, I am happy with my decision. I gotten use to the noise and grown to like them. It seems like its louder inside the car than outside. The other thing about Comptech is that its louder at lower RPM and as the RPM increase, the noise gets less. Also, I like the CONSERVATIVE LOOK. I saw some pictures of other exhaust and they are too big. They make the car look cheezie. The only other exhaust I would consider is HKS. I think they look pretty good. HKS seems to have more sporty look than Comptech. If I had to buy it again, I would probably get Comptech. The only thing is that they are TOO DAM EXPENSIVE. Try HKS and see how you like it and let me know.
If anybody has HKS on their TL, please give me some input.
