I think the one thing I am concerned about is reliability, especially if I'm looking to buy a used '04. On consumer reports, the 04' is doing relativelly poor on the categories of Electical, Body Integrity, and Power Equipment. Not as poor as say BMW, but poor for a Honda. I'd like to believe that these problems would be solved in the first year under warranty by the first owner, but life is not that fair. Putting aside the tranny issue, the 2gl is rated way higher in reliability. We'll see if the 05's fix those problems.

And from a used buyer's perspective, the 04' does not seem like it's going to depreciate as quick as the 2gl, which adds to the initial cost of ownership in cost and insurance.

I HAD $20,000 TO SPEND ON A CAR. This is money i saved up in one year just for that. I dont like high car payments. I knew i wanted a TL 2G or 3G. My girl has an 2003 Type-S and got a loaner 3G because hers had to get a new tranny. I love the interior of the 3G but the exterior of the 2G is unique. I think it has a more mean look specially if its dropped. The 3G looks very similar to the TSX. You can always upgrade the interior of any car. And as a matter of fact if you like this Bluetooth navigation system just customize your current application. I mean that is what we all do with our cars anyways so why the hell not.

The 2G is the nicer car overall. Most people on the streets wil telll you.

My next car will probably be a 3G 6MT, if Acura were smart and put a 6MT into the TL-S that would be my next cat. I need a manual. My cureent TL is the only auto I have ever owned, still it's the best car I have ever owned.

I will ride my 2G TL until its almost dead.
I am holding out for a 2005 or so, RL (as a pre-owned)
I sat in one at the stealership, next is to try one on the road....

I couldn't agree more, was the whole reason i got a 2g. The styling is agressive yet classic and people really notice. the 3g tl and tsx are almost identical, from a distance you couldn't tell. My neighbor has a TSX and whenever someone call it a Tl, you couldn't wipe the smile from his face. While one of my co-worker has a 3g tl and get mad when people mistaken it for a tsx hah.
