OMG...I'd be calling every day, every 10 minutes. Did the other guy have a decent insurance ? Or was it like Joe's Fish-n-Chips, used hard drives and insurance.

I did. Call them a couple of times last week. They told me they're going to review my claim and send me a check? I think it's bullshit. The damn adjuster didn't even look at my car yet.

I would hire a lawyer at this point - your insurance isn't taking you seriously. Even if you get one to write a letter to your insurer asking why they haven't inspected your car and that your considering action it should get them moving.

6 weeks for an adjuster to go look at your car, review your claim and issue a check is insane - evaluating your car should've been done in a couple of days, and getting a check within 2-3 weeks at most.

yeah that's freakin bullshit, your wait should be while it's IN the shop getting fixed, not waiting TO get it fixed...take actions said above, good ideas. good luck, hope you get out fast. (check some other insurance companies.....) -shawn

I don't see how my insurance company has anything to do with it. It's the other party's insurance that's screwing around. I think I'll try that lawyer thing. How much does it cost to get a lawyer to represent you in an accident case? I remember like 4 years ago, I was in an accident. It look less then 2 weeks from the accident to file the claim, have the adjuster look at thea cr, plus recieve the check. These assholes suck.

You could also contact your state insurance board.

if you have a good insurance then they should pay for it and do the repairs and then go after the money from the other insurance. You shouldn't have to wait to get the car fixed. I have State Farm and they paid for my repairs and went after the other persons insurance afterwards.

Oh yea.... I ran into the ditch last september 9th after 2 of my tires blew out.... this damned body shop kept my car until early december. I was PISSED. I still havn't released the vehicle from them, because there are still issues that need to be fixed. Damage is up to about 13K now. Dumbass people in Alabama.... ugh, I should have had my shit towed back to Atlanta.

they're not taking u seriously since they have to dish out the money! what kind of insurance do u have? u need to say the word "lawyer" and "breech of contract" for no services rendered. that kinda turnaround time is unacceptable.

:wtf:

That's crazy!
My TL-S got into the accident that same day 7/10, and it was determined to be a total lost.
I have been driving my new car for almost 1 month now and you are still waiting for your repair to begin?
I went thru my own insurance first and let my insurance deal with the other dude's insurance. (The accident was 100% his fault)
I think you should consider doing that too if you don't want to hire a lawyer. You will have to pay deductible first, but once the fault is established, your insurance company will get your deductible back.

Your insurance company came down and took a look at your car after all this time?!

I would keep track of the number of days they have delayed the process and milk them for loss of use of your vehicle (probably $50/day).... I was a former claims adjuster. Another thing.... time to change to reputable insurance companies. This type of delay is not acceptable. I would suggest you contact department of insurance at your state and make a complaint so they take you seriously.
