Post Battled a Type-R

I was headed down I-5 one night when i noticed a yellow typeR with the ugly ass is300 lights, but it had some nice rims and exhaust. He starts accelerating and going throught traffic. I noticed there were too many cars so i just stayed in the carpool lane watching him. Finally a mile later the road opens up and hes still there. He lets me catch up and i pass him, going around 100mph. So i just went down to 90 to let him catch up, when i notice him gaining i floored it, he was probably going 110-115 cuz i was going 100 and he passed me quickly. So i see him brake a little and let me catch up. By that time im going 115 and about half a car length behind him, soon its 120mph and im still a lil behind 125, im pullin on him about dead even 130 i get a car length on him 135 2 car lengths then i think he stopped and so did I. I know type r's are quick on the street but on the HWY there pretty weak. I borrowed my friends type r before and on the HWY it didnt impress me at all. I was kinda upset i feel i should of whooped him from 100 and up.

No offense but that's totally pointless driving that fast on public roads...

I don't think it's pointless, it is crazy, but people do much dumber things every day. It's not like he was drunk or was weaving in between cars or tailgating someone. Going very fast with enough distance from other cars is by far the worst thing he could do.

My $.02

Bah, thats too fast if you have stock tires. Then you'd be risking yourself. But on open road with an intelligent driver and good rubber, its fine.

Stock tires are V-rated. Good for 149 mph.

don't forget about having a blow-out... that's what scares me the most. Immediately losing control of the car!

I'm not comparing you to this guy, but this happened in San Francisco last night - an Acura Legend with a 16 y/o driver drag racing in the city and hit a light rail train. Passenger dead - driver arrested on manslaughter. Don't race man - you have a very nice car. You don't need to prove it.

Damn, I think I know the people who were involved in the crash. I used to go to that school. Not to be racist or anything but these russian kids always think they are driving F1 formula cars. They would peel out every chance they got and race anything on the road. I hope this would teach them a lesson. Drive safe guys!

Glad I didnt post how I made it from Vancouver BC to Everett in 47 minutes, Nate!
I snuck across the border too thru the trucks only area. They really need to tighten their security.

Racing is fine. Just use common sense about it.
Since no one was there I doubt anyone can say
if it was
reckless or not. Can't be afraid to live.

As the saying goes. "anyone who drives slower than
you is a moron; anyone who drives faster than you is crazy".

i've felt that same situation when i raced modded GSRs when i had prelude si. they'd pull faster straight line 60 and quarter, but on highway, prelude was fast as hell at high speeds. thats when its torque really seemed to shine 153 lbs vs. 132 i believe for stock GSR.

Is that blood on the side of the light rail train.

Going that fast on public roads is just not wise. Conditions on race tracks are controlled. Tracks are cleared of debris. I have no doubt some of you guys are good drivers but if you hit debris or anything else, which you have no control of, doing that kind of speed you odds are not too good.

Eskimo probably has apoint. as confident as we may be, if there is debris there ain't shit you can do. on Hwy 59 in houston there is always shit. living in texas with all the ****ing rednecks driving their pickups shit is bound to fall out of it. i've seen 2 by fours, at least once a week, tires, mattresses, and one time a full bumper. it was running perpendicular to the road, meaning covering the entire lane. i was going approx 83 mph, in my prelude. it was the far left lane, and the lane on my right was blocked. 83 mph isn't particularly fast but then all of a sudden the big truck in front of me swerved, and i was stuck with a bumper right there. i swerved too but didn't realize my tread was worn. (my car was dropped so the tread was kinda hard to see). yeah anyway so i dodged the bumper, skidded out of control did a 360 then crashed into the brick wall. thank god i only had burns from the airbag. my car got totalled, and then i got the TL. it was still scary as shit tho. as much as i love bikes i don't think i will ever get a bike cuz knowing me i'd top speed the bike.

Damn, it's not like he was drunk or high. Most of us here race or have raced people. JYoo was just letting us know that he raced a TypeR and had fun doing it. Bottom line is he didn't kill anyone, or ran into any poles, etc. I admit, I race quite a bit and so do most people in the forum.
