Battery Life

I'm sure I'm totally jinxing myself here.. but I am the original owner of a 2000 TL... bought it June 16, 2000.... so it's just about 4 1/2 years old w/ about 45k miles on it.... I am still on the original battery. It starts up normal... I see absolutely no signs pointing to the fact that I will be needing new one anytime soon. Is this normal? How long before yours have gone... or how long have yours lasted so far?

Thanks,

Noam

I am still on my original battery. I have a pretty large aftermarket sound system and run fairly regularly with the engine off. I've never had a problem with my battery so far. I have been extremely impressed with the Acura battery.

my 2000 battery just died this year, but of course i had like 158,000 miles on it 4-6 is about what you will get out of them, when mine died it was sudden. no signs it was going to start being bad. with in the same day it started fine in the am, but by noon it was cranking a little slower, by 3 it was dead

a friend of mine has a 91 prelude. he just replaced the original battery this past summer, so anything is possible i guess. i would recommend having it load tested in the spring or late winter. it's free at almost any auto store and you will know right away if you will need to look at getting a new one. i'm sure acura could test it too.

MY 02 TL had about 36K miles on it when I bought it in May 2004. About a month after I got it the battery died completely. Fortunately my dealer installed a new one for free. But I could not believe it went dead so early. My 02 CR-V has 53k miles with original battery.

Not sure
