battery drainage help?

ok so i was under the hood this beautiful weekend and noticed how corroded my battery posts were and decided to replace them .. all went good so i though but now i am getting this RANDOMNESS when starting,, sometimes it is all good but a few times i am getting a little "clicking" like a dead battery click then it all of a sudden starts BUT when it does my doors auto lock (not normal) and sometimes my back window shoots down like just a little bit??/ wtf! any ideas anybody? i mean its not that hard to take two posts off your cables and put 2 new ones on. did i really mess this up or is something overcompensating elsewhere ?

You replaced the posts that are part of the battery or the connectors at the end of the positive and negative cables?

The problems you're having sound like a poor/intermittant connection.

Let's think about this.....

1. You were not having problems.
2. You replaced the connectors at the end of the cables.
3. You are now having problems.

While it could be a coinicidence that your battery decided to die at exactly the same time, my guess is that there's something wrong with the connectors or the way you put them on.

Are all the connections tight? From what I remember about the stock battery, the terminal posts a tapered (fatter on bottom than top) and sometimes the terminals come loose.

yeah i crancked those things on there, but i should maybe give it a second look then i am thinking, the wires are on the new connections so tight and the new connections are on the battery real tight too. i dont understand why i would be getting the dead battery clicking noise randomly

Have someone put a volt meter on the battery when you crank the car. See if the voltage drops significantly. Battery might be going. It's a weird coincidence but who knows.

good idea, pepboys maybe. can they tell whats causing the drain specifically? you might be right,, it was like all of a sudden, 3 months ago battery looked healthy,, this weekend i checked it BAM! all green corrosion everywhere so i gave it a real good cleaning thats when i realized the connectioncs were all corroded too and barely keeping together so i took them off and replaced them exactly as they were both pos and neg, nice and tight.. you know, its not rocket science>? but i screwed up somewhere or do you think the battery is just going that quickly? by the way thank you for everybodies help

The battery is getting old, but I'd still take it to Pep Boys or a battery place and have them test it before replacing it.

My buddy and I had a very similar problem. It was the negative (black) terminal. Disconnect the negative terminal completely, and the car won't start. It sounds like your terminal isn't making a solid connection.

Either that or the battery is dying.
