Bad washer fluid

I posted another topic on this...I thought it was wax on the windshield from when I did a waxing...
I kept getting this waxy, icky looking film on the windshield...everytime I wiped it off, it came back.
It was the washer fluid doing it. I still had the Prestone de-icer fluid in it...it's yellowish. I figured the de-icing stuff went bad in the summer heat, so I flushed it out. Filled one of those big 32oz cups with plain water, dumped it in, and ran the washer sprayer until it went dry...repeated that...then filled with the cheap Wal-mart blue summer washer fluid.
Works great now.

That's what I figured...I don't recall having a problem in the winter...
But from an extremely hot engine to a hot windshield, it chemically breaks down..or something...
