Bad tire - warranty covered?

Bad tire - warranty covered?
One of the Michelin Pilot tires on my car has a noticeable "bulge" or "bubble" in the sidewall. There's no noticeable damage to the outside of the tire or even a scratched wheel. This leads me to think it's a defective tire. When I called the dealer they tell me that it won't be completely covered by warranty, that if it is defective then it'll be prorated with a new tire. Does bumper-bumper coverage not include the tires?

Usually the bubble on the side is from an impact...such as pothole or the like. I would take it to Discount Tire Co. near you and let a professional look at it. They do free flat repairs and can possibly do the warranty work there if it is indeed defective...
