bad repairs.

Last year, I was cruising down Grand Ave (near route 4 in NJ), and I stopped in front of a benz. Everything seemed fine until a car hit me from behind. He apparently was attempting to squeeze in the right lane to turn right but has missed completely. And in turn, my Acura was pushed coercively and hit the back of the Benz that was in front of my TL. The results were horrendous. The back of my TL was squashed and the front as well. Everything was taken care of from insurance to law suits to repairs, until recently I have found out that they have done a terrible repair job.

My HID head lights were blowing out on a frequent basis and I took it to the Acura dealer twice to repair the left and the right side. The left side went out again for the second time and I got very frustrated and went to the Acura dealer again to get it fixed. When I asked them why it happened so frequently, they said the previous repair is causing problems with the wires or what not. Their answers were ambiguous because they had to open the car to examine and scrutinize the problem.

Which leads to my question, I have gotten a repair job at some local bodyshop (which I regret, however their reputation was pretty good), and I would like to take back my TL back to their shop to get it fixed without charge. The only problem is, this happened a year ago, perhaps the time span annulled any kind room for complaints?

Any feedbacks on what I could do?

Call your insurance company and see what they say. They probably won't cover it since it was a small shop, but who knows. I had my faulty repairs covered by my insurance co because the guaranteed the work. If you can show that the repairs are at fault they should fix it properly if they care about their reputation at all..

they fixed the whole front, and replaced many parts under the hood. and the thing is, even the paint job is horrible, it's peeling by itself.... -_-

I believe they should provide warranty on their work.

i have pretty strong insurance backgroud (claims)... and here is my advice. if you went to a shop that your insurance company recommended you to, you normally have life time warranty on all repairs... (that's for most big insurance companies...) on the other hand, if you chose your own shop for repairs... you only have the shop's warranty... and you're pretty much screwed... =T

who is your carrier?? just curious
