I'm sure this has been posted before on this forum, but I just wanted to post this to help out anyone who will encounter this problem. I was getting off the freeway and noticed my gears were shifting a little funny. I knew something was wrong so I pulled into a parking lot to check it out. The car starting revving by itself while is park between 1000 and 2500 rpm. It would go up and down. Shortly after that I had to drive it and park it at my friends house to have it towed and the check engine and TCS light came on. After looking on other forums I came to realize that it was the Idle Air Control Valve and the o2 sensor that both went bad. Just as I thought my mechanic said that was the problem and I should be getting my car back today. (Not sure of what it is going to cost yet, I know an IAC valve part is $150, and an o2 sensor is $40, so I'm guessing it will be between $200-300, I will post how much it was when I find out later today) Anyways I just wanted to post this here so if anyone else has this happen to them, they will know what to fix. I have an 03 Acura TL-P with 130k miles on it.

 

Just found out it is going to cost me $500 for the repairs. Not to mention I apparently need my axle replaced which is another $400. But I am not going to repair the axle until I get some more money. So basically this car has become a money pit now. I plan on selling the car as soon as possible. I love how Acura TL's drive, but am fed up with this constant maintenance. From the knock sensor wire, to the 02 sensor, to the IAC valve. I'm done putting money into this car. If you have more than 100k miles on your TL, SELL IT!
