Bad Experience W/ EIBACH?
I know that everyone and their mother has Comptech springs over all other brands for their TL. I was just wondering if anyone has had bad expereinces w/ Eibach and their TL. I know that Comptechs are made specifically Honda/Acura but I am a former Eibach customer and was completely satisfied. Any info would be appreciated.
I am interested also. I have the Pro kit on my 98 Accord and have had no problems. These springs are the same part number for the TL-s so I could take them from my Accord and put them on a TL. I do not feel comfortable doing the install work but a friend will for a fee. Since he may charge over $100 I may just leave them on the Accord when I trade it in and buy new ones for the TL-s if I get one. I think the Eibachs are a good brand but it seems many are using others maybe do to cost or due to the fact the dealers offer Comptech. Do you think the dealers suggest Comptech because they are making money from that brand? If it were me I would only get springs that lower the front more than the back so the wheel gap all around is close to equal.

I don't think dealer recomends Comptech because they make more margin but from what I heard, Comptech is the ONLY after market performance product company that is CERTIFIED by Acura/Honda. I heard this from a person who works at Acura parts dept. As matter fact, I heard that there is a very little margin on Comptech performance products. He also said that dealer (not just Acura dealer buts dealers in general) make lot more margin on companies like Eibach, H & R, DC, HKS & etc. I think Acura dealers recomend Comptech because they are the ONLY after market performance products that are CERTIFIED by Acura/Honda. Please don't ask me what CERTIFED means because that all he told me. One more thing, he also told me that people at Comptech are very much INTO doing researches and racing Honda's & Acura's not just selling their perfomance parts. I don't mean that Comptech does not want to sell their performance parts but they are also into making sure that their products produce performance. That is another reason why Comptech parts are so expensive. He says that there are only 10-15% margin on Comptech performance productst as opose to other performance products which the margins are around 25-40%.
I hope this helps.

I have also heard that Comptech parts are designed for Honda/Acura. I wasn't putting them down for being sold at the dealer. I have seen a TL-s with the H&R's and looked great(I have not driven one lowered yet so I can not tell you feel). What I would suggest is get a meet together and see if other will take you for a ride. I have not heard any negative things about Comptech or H&R's and have not heard of anyone installing Eibachs but don't know why.
