bad engine mount? or suspension?
Hi guys I can't figure out what is making this scratching noise in my car. It has only happened in the last couple of weeks but seemed worse today. It happens when I am stopped and shift from park to reverse and then from reverse to 4th or 3rd. It also happens while driving and going over decent bumps in the road and when turning sometimes at low speeds. Do you guys think it could be a bad mount or something in my suspension system gone bad. I can't seem to pinpoint it, everything seems to be in good shape and my car is running fine. Any ideas?

I hope that helps. A bad motor mount will make noise when put into gear if itws really bad.
Try this. Accellerate normally. When approaching a stop, brake moderately (not hard, not too soft). Do you hear a single "clunk" coming from the engine area? That is my friend the broken motor mount.
hope that helps a little
