B pipe non type S

On this site the store appears to have non type s b-pipe by comptech. But the comptechusa.com site does not.

So i called comptechusa.com and the guy said they do not make a b-pipe for the non type-s

I have the comptech mufflers. So whats the deal can i get the comptech b-pipe

2003 tl-p

thanks

There is no difference in the non Type-S and the Type-S stock b-pipe. The Comptech B-pipe will fit both models without problem.

You sure? I did my research on this a while back and I believe thte type-S is 0.25 inches wider. Also...when ordering parts...they have different part #s. If THIS WAS TRUE...then I would of traded my modified y-pipe with a stock TLP months ago.

Although the B-pipe from a type-S will fit on a TLP (and vice versa)...the pipe is definitely NOT THE SAME.

Item #12 is what we are looking at.

On a TL-S...it is part # 12897
On a TL-P...it is part # 12898

These are the exact same part #s for the 2002 and 2003 models.

The details about the stock exhaust diameter aren't revelant. All he wanted to know is if it would fit. :P

It became "relevant" once you claimed this...

Didn't realize you were going to nit-pick all through my posts. There is no difference in the way the stock b-pipe on either model bolts up. Thus the Comptech B-pipe will fit both models.

I was considering changing my TL-P B-pipe for the Type-S B-pipe If..... the diameter piping was larger, in order to yield "some" gains, and a slightly deeper exhaust tone. Myabe even the Comptech B-pipe, if the exhaust note is not too deep.

After talking with Comptech and my locar Acura dealership, I was advise that it was not possible. So based on what I read, y ou guys believe this is possible? direct bolt on? no modifications in order for it to fit?

Let me know your thoughts on both, CT and Type-S B-pipe, appreciate your feedback.

www.autocarparts.com sells the Comptech B-pipe and lists it under both the 3.2 (premium) and the Type-S.

Remember, the b-pipe was designed for those using the supercharger. The gains it provides on a N/A car are minimal (~ 3 whp). The only reason for upgrading to the Comptech unit on a N/A car would be to get the absolute most power from your engine or if you wanted to upgrade to all stainless steel exhaust.

You didn't buy the Type-S in the 1st place, trying to play catch up by adding the B-pipe seems pretty pointless to me. Buy headers first.

Well tried to install it. IT DOESNT FIT The holes on the flange that attaches to the cat are farther apart. I tried it every which way it is not a match. period. so the store on this site needs to be corrected but I think that AUTOCARPARTS.com, which is the store on this site, might fix it on their end.

I'm sorry to hear this. I was misinformed and unfortunately that misinformation was passed along to you.
