i have a guy that can mod the dash kit so it wont even be near the a/c and heat controls. It will be on the bottom right where the stock tape deck is at

go with AVIC F900BT or F90BT all big issues are fixed now. I've got F700BT coz I dont care about DVD player - anyway I love it!

its either double din or go home.. we have such a massive opening for the stereo, might as well fill it up with something that uses up most of that space!

imo any single din setup looks cheap in our interiors. i just hate the look of all that wasted space filled with black plastic.
i don't even like double dins unless the kit was really well done like uncald4's.

i have an older avic N3 flip out. Everyone that sees the flipout loves it and I really like the giant screen. I got a great deal on the flip out but if money is not an issue get the DD, it looks cleaner. I leave the flip out open all the time.It does tilt but I rarely have to move it to adjust the heater controls. I do hide "stuff" in the slide out compartment since it's covered by the screen.

Well i have the 4000 in my room never touched im just thinking do i want to pay the money to have it installed or should i sell it and get the 5000. I know a guy that can mod the 5000 for me to make it not block the controls or the storage compartment, it would be down a little lower.

Chisox1 if possible can you show me some pics of yours?

4000 for sure. I have flip out and hate it. Sometimes when its really cold it'll get stuck shut and stuff. and doesn't look as clean at all

I use the spot under the radio for my Ipod adapter which was extra $ and the wires you see on the right are A/V auxiliary for Ipod Videos. My version doesn't play ipod video directly. I got lots of info at avic411.com like the bypass for DVD play etc.

No problem seeing it, the only negative is that with the screen closed it sticks out too much. If you leave it open it looks better but might get jacked if your not careful.

I dont know what to do i have until 5pm on sunday to decide thats when the pioneer ends. If there was a way to hide to DD deff i would do it!

if someone wants to steal ur radio, there gonna steal it, doesnt matter what u have but i think the dd's are more inviting to the crooks, if its an uneducated crook they might not notice the flipout

either way we're taking a risk putting these in, which sucks ass

yea that is true and the thing is people say that double din is hard to take because they mount it but my homie gots his jaked in 5 minutes out of his truck and he had an alarm. DD does make the car a little nicer but the flip up does stick out when it is closed.

Go with the flat screen install. That way you don't have to deal with the flip out covering your AC/Heat controls.

My installer can mod that he can put the flip up on the bottom instead of the top of the kit so it will not block anything.

if ur installer can do that then why not have him make a double din for the 4000 you already have?

Go with double din. flip outs are terrible(IMO). find some pics of both and you'll see for yourself. I have some pics of my double din on my car domain page.
