I just picked up my new 2002 TL-S saturday and have 200+ miles on it. After comming out of American Cars, i had a 98 Riviera, and a 94 Impala SS i must say this car is a pleasant surprise !! Quality in construction far surpases my american cars. I cant wait to break it in so i can manually shift the 5 speed. Dollar for dollar this car offers some of the best bang for the buck ive seen in a sporty foreign car. Ill keep you posted as to any problems that i might incur, but after having transmissions explode on my impala and my riviera im kinda looking foward to 3 years of maintance free driving. P.S. i leased this car hoping that by the time the it ends the RL will have a motor with some "balls"

Why can't you manually shift now?

 

There is no reason not to use the SS during the break-in - just don't rev too high too often. I, too am waiting for the RL to be a LS430 and Q45 beater (As well as Benz, Bummer)

 

If Acura is smart (and they ARE)...

They'll find what makes the Q45, the LS430, and the S430 unique, and they'll incorporate all those options STANDARD for one low price (slightly under 50K). I think the auto industry will eat it up!

A V8 with VTEC!!!
