Lightbulb Auto up/down window switch

OK, while driving on a 2 hour run to a client, I realized it would be really nice if all the windows had the same auto up/down switch that the driver's door window has. Has anyone made this happen? And if so, how is it done?

havent heard or seen anybody did such a mod. I would think it'll cost a lot of money.
The g35 is all doors auto up/down on the window. Pretty neat feature but they dont have the tilted down right side mirror on reverse which is ten times sweeter than the window thing.

Yep, reminded some of my friends of a Seinfeld episode too!

I agree with one of the guys that said the right-tilting-when-backing feature is really cool! How much cooler if we had both!!

ive already checked in to this since i only have auto down on drivers window the auto option for the windows actually has alot to it. between needing new wiring, switches and motors, its just not worth it. its not a function of just the switch. its the whole damn system. SH!T!!!!!

so u would have to get a motor for every window, there isn't a way to splitting the wires from the motor or would that cause all the windows to go down at the push of one button(which might not be a bad idea)possibe DIY in the making

it can be done

put 2 DEI 530t window module inside, once installed you will have one touch window up and down on all windows, cost of modules is about $80 each and install time is about 6 hours on the later tl, it will even roll up or down windows with your aftermarket alarm

i rad on another forum before i bought my car that all it involved was wiring or resitors or something...i dont know... but all you had to do was keep the ciruit open after one touch...the window would only go up all the way or down all the way tho

This has been discussed many times before... Lots of manufacturers include it in their products, lots of those products cost more than our TL, however. For what it's worth: The rear view mirror tilt feature is much much much more useful than the auto up down on all windows for me because when in the car, I am by myself 80% of the time. If you can't live without the window thingy, do as said above and get an alarm that has it...

When I had a DSM I read somewhere on their board that someone did a mod that did make the switch Auto Up as well as down. Now he only did it to the driver's switch and it was Auto Down already. I'll see if I can find the link:

Try this link...

let's not forget about safety!!!! dont let Mary in the back seat put the auto up on Johny. if you can tackle the "auto-up" upgrade master the "safety down" feature also.

Auto-up/auto-down for all windows is definitely possible and relatively reasonably priced if you get an aftermarket alarm that has it as an add-on option (like DEI alarms). Trying to get it with the factory set-up is almost impossible. The car's multiplexor controls the signals to the windows and is centrally located. As Darkshear alluded to, the function is not in the switch itself, but in the multiplexor (brain). You would need a completely new brain, if there even is one available, that could do this.

Go aftermarket if you really want it.

you can put the 530t regardless if you got aftermarket alarm or not, just put in the modules WILL make all windows one touch. the ***** thing about it is because on the tl you need to run wires to each door.

If auto-up/down is available on all windows (or at least the 2 fronts) in newer Acuras (Im thinking the TSX), would it maek sense that the brain from a newer car would fit the TL? I dont see Honda changing parts so much that they wouldnt be able to interchange, but I could be wrong.

BTW, talking about "tilted down right side mirror on reverse " - is there any way to make it work on the 99-01 TLs? I love it, but only enjoy it when I get a loaner from dealer. Anyone knows what is involved???

Also while we're at it, WTF is the deal with grab handles without a return spring! I've never seen that in any other car, either they're fixed handles or the spring back! Cheap bastards, hom much does a sping cost?

ROFL if you want nice flush door locks to put your arm on, and tilting mirrors, and auto up/down/pinch protection on all windows and spring back "oh SH!T" handles, looks like your investing in a BMW

I don't think that Honda will put up its reputation by just putting a spring into its overhead handles... *They design their products to be reliable and longlasting... Those types of springs and the engineering behind the mechanisim to make them work is expensive..

*Excludes Automatic transmissions and vehicle paint.
