Auto-dimming rearview vs. Tints

Auto-dimming rearview vs. Tints
Howdy again all!
Just a quick question for those who have tinted their car. Do you find that the tints on the back window can compensate for the auto-dimming feature on the rearview mirrors? The reason I'm asking is I would like a mirror that affords me a much better view of what's going on behind me, but I've come to rely on the auto-dimming feature at night. If tints can do the trick, what % tint is required to do a proper job? I was thinking about 25% tints all around but I suppose I'd be willing to go darker on the back if need be.
I know you can buy other mirrors that have auto-dimming features, but haven't found a proper one as of yet and want to keep my options open in case I do find one that doesn't support auto-dimming.
Thanks!

Well the question I'm asking isn't whether auto-dimming would still work with dark tints, it's what level of tint is required so that you don't need an auto-dimming rearview anymore.

Just chillen..
Right. I believe about 20%, but don't quote me on that. But if you replace the rear view mirror, you will still face one problem ( depending on tint level ), high beams/Bright ass HIDs/ and whatnot. The rear view mirror automatically adjusts it's color to block any violent light thus helping your eyes adjust to the road..

I have the same thing in my car, with around 20% and i got allot of suv's and trucks in my area and i dont have a problem.
If you are good at spotting the red and blue lights on the top of the car behind you it will be harder to tell if the guy following you is a cop or not with tints.

I'm pretty sure the auto-dimming feature measures the change in light based on the surrounding light in the cabin, not on the windows themselves. That's why it still works the same in a car that has 35% as one with 5%. And I don't know about you guys but mine works during the day too when there's a lot of glare, since acura put a new one in my car a few months ago.
