Auto Cracking windshield

Hey, has anyone here had their windshield crack all by itself? My 2003 Type S started to have a hairline crack form from the bottom of the windshield and is working its way up, with no signs of rock trauma.

Dealer here said they'll replace it under warranty. Car is in the Bay Area (CA) so it's not like there are huge temp extremes. Odd eh?

Body flex will sometimes cause a windshield to crack. Example: Your car body can twist but the windshield can't twist so it cracks.

Very odd. I've only experienced one windshield crack ever. It was on a 15 year old Accord I owned in otherwise perfect condition and it was about 15 degrees below. I think my heater worked too well and the temperature difference combined with age did it in

Wind will do that to any windshield when driving.

The element owners have had a big problem with this. I wonder if our cars suffer from crappy glass too?
