Audio buttons on steering wheel

I made an appointment to get my audio buttons fixed on my steering wheel for this coming Friday. Do you guys think that the dealership will be able to fix the problem within the day?

The time to complete the job from start to finish is probably less than 2 hours. So they could very well complete the job in one day and return your car to you. What will most likely happen however is this:

7:00 am Dealer demands car be in by this time so they can get the job done same day. IN reality they just want it standing by in case one of their employees gets a chance to look at it. This will most likely not happen for some time after the turn in .

8:00 am You will arrive at work feeling content that somewhere your car is being looked at and very very soon you will be recieveing a call letting you know the final cost . Life is good. Sadly this is all a ruse.

10:00 am You decide to call the stealership to see how things are going. *crosses fingers* Maybe it is done and you can pick it up at lunch. You have already asked and your buddy at work has agreed to take you if it is done. You call and after waiting on hold for 5 minutes for the transfer to repair department to pick up you are told, "Sir your car is the next one in line. We don't have any answers yet but will very soon. Can we have a number where we can call you back?" Well this sounds promising.... it wont be ready for lunch but maybe if you take a late lunch it will be. You give them the number.

12:00 pm No one has called. You decide to call the dealership back. Bubba is out to lunch and he wont be back for an hour. Please call back then and he will be able to help you.

1:00 pm Call back to the stealership. Bubba is still not back. Should be back any time now. Please call back. Well while Bubba is out taking a 2 hour lunch you are starving your ass off because you have no way to get anywhere to eat anything except your buddy who is now pissed because he is starving too waiting to go pick your car up. At this point one usually determines that the car is gonna be an afterwork pickup and goes ahead and grabs a bite to eat....

1:30 pm you are back from burger king where you grabbed a quick bite to eat at the desk. You call the dealership to see what the status is on the car. Luckily Bubba is back now and they go and get him for you. 10 minutes later Bubba answers and says "Sir your car is the next one in line. We don't have any answers yet but will very soon. Can we have a number where we can call you back?"..... HANG ON A MINUTE?!?! That's what I was told 3 and a half hours ago. You gotta be shitting me! So you tell Bubba you have heard that before and he replies that he is not sure who told you that but that his name is Bubba and he can assure you that your car is next in line...... Ok then.... you can't get too mad at Bubba. he is gonna take care of you next and by the sound of his voice you are pretty sure he doesnt make the policy decisions at the stealership. You hang up and wait for Bubba to call. He will as soon as he knows something.

2:00 pm No one calls.

2:30 pm no one calls.

3:00 pm No one calls.

3:30 pm No one calls.

4:00 pm you decide to call the dealership back. Bubba has gone home for the day but he did look at the car. It appears your fanabler pin (fill in some obscure part here... halogen fluid, radiator spark arrestor, carbuartor plug, anything will do) is missing and they have to order one. It will be in first thing in the morning. By this point you are livid!! The only thing car dealerships are better at then selling cars is soothing pissed off customers. It would seem like they would try not to get the customers pissed by providing good service but that is not how the system works. At this point... demand a free loaner because they promised one thing and didnt provide it and now you are in the lurch. Get a cool new acura and settle back. I would say it will be three days before you see your car again.

I could give you sa list of likely excuses but let day 2 and 3 be a surprise. Good Luck.

Seriously, make an appointment and reserve a loaner. It shouldn't take THAT long, but I agree with the above scenario - sounds a lot like Acura service.
