Why is the speedo gonna be off and what do you mean by "a lot"? I was going to order 215/55/16's (yoko v4's) tomorrow. My friend has them on his 99 and he loves then (not lowered though). I'm also putting Comptech springs and sways on and I really dont want to have a problem with rubbing. Please help!!!

Thanks!

Jason

He's not kidding in that it will be off... but not by too much.

Our stock tire has a circumf of 80.69" while the new tire will have 79.52". The difference in size will cause the gauges to display the wrong info. As a result of your changing tires to the size you mentioned, your speedo will read 1.46% faster than it actually is. To me that's pretty negligible.

Out of curiousty, why don't you go to the site and calculate how much of a difference that 225/40/18 rims owners are getting.

Actually, 225/40/18's are a lot smaller than stock as well, so the speedo will be reading faster than usual.. 215/45/18 is the best size to match the overall size of the stock 205/60/16's our cars come with, but there is a very small number of tires that come in that size..

Tire Rack only has two Yokohama's in that size. One is a grand touring, the other is standard touring.

Go for 225/55-16 and check out the Avs-db.

Much closer to stock circ. and overall dia. so speedometer will be almost out of the picture.

Check your PM.

sorry about the "a lot", it'll be off, but compare to 225/55/16s, I think it's a lot more. it's a total circumference of stock (65.24cm) VS 225/55/16 (65.39cm) VS 215/55/16 (64.29cm). not too much, but if you can get the error to minimum by putting on 225/55/16s and it doesn' rub, I don't see why not... just a suggestion that might work the best.

That's exactly what I meant. So compare to what we get, the difference you get from 205/60/16 should be so negligible!
