Attn: Every One Who Had Warped Rotors

I am just trying to see how many of us got new rotors & pads due to warped rotors or just got rotors resurfaced with new pads under warrenty.

Also, how many of you were refused of service under warrenty because you had more than 12K mi.

i replaced my pads at 30k miles due to warped rotors...i figured since i was gonna have to get my rotors turned i might as well change to Porterfield pads...so i didnt even bother to go to the dealership just to get the same bad combination even if it was going to be free...

I got mine done for free at about 22k and the dealer kept rubbing it in that this was a 'one time only' thing. Little do they know I will be bringing it back everytime I have this problem and they will fix it under warranty whether they like it or not because it is a known problem......luckily I haven't experienced the transmission problems just yet (knock on wood)

25k on car.

new pads, acura has changed their stock pads to eliminate the problem and they resurfaced my rotors. I complained about vibrations after and they replace the rotors with brand new ones.

if you get that type of responce from a dealer ask to speek with the General Manager and if still don't get satisfactory service call Acura Customer care

I had my rotors and pads replaced at like 15,000 Miles by the dealer, and like Andrew, they emphasized that it was a "one time favor"..That was at Paragon Acura(THEY SUCK A$$)..Since then I had changed to AEM pads and had the rotors shaved once by Park Ave Acura..So far, at 27,000 miles i'm cool..

20K; dealer resurfaced both rotors and installed what they said were different pads that honda called out to prevent the warping again (who knows). No more problems as of yet (33K).

Do you guys leave your after market wheels on when you take your car in for rotors and break pads service? My only concern is that the dealer may BS and won't do the warranty service because i'm running my car on bigger wheels.

What the hell are you guys doing to your brakes? I still have the original brake pads on and I have 36,000 miles. Last time I took the car in for service I still had over 50% on my brake pads. Jeez, I haven't gone through brakes like you guys are since my T-bird needed brakes at 1500 miles.

I had my rotors and pads replaced under warranty at ~45K miles.

BTW, I had aftermarket rims on when I took my car in. No problems whatsoever but then again it's Park Ave Acura (#1).

Yes. I'm using the street compound...R4-S

i've always liked the Porterfields...used them on my Supra too...a little pricey but little/no dust and grips like a mother.

See my sig. I'm kinda leaning towards EBC right now just cause they're so cheap. The Endless and Porterfields are both 120 for the front, EBC like 80. Haven't made my final decision yet. Everybody who has any of these pads say good things about them so I'm still looking...

yeah i heard EBC was pretty good especially for the money. One thing i did notice is that although the porterfields are for street, they still require a bit of warmup...cold braking exhibits somewhat diminished stopping.

i'm really hoping that Project u comes out with an application...i've heard some really good stuff about their pads.

What!!!!!??? You people say that you were refused new rotors? Damn, my dealer gave me brand new rotors and new softer pads for free.... the service manager even apologized for the issue... All I did was coming in with the same problem second time (first time rotors were only cut) mentioning the existance of this problem on Acura bulletin board. After that, it was piece of cake... people, they HAVE to address the issue for you.

When I complained about warped rotors the dealer told me because it was because of my RH C-5's. He said that they must've over tightened the torques on the wheels and caused the rotor to warp. So basically they denied me. What a bunch of sh!t. So I just got some Powerstop cross-drilled rotors and Axxis Metal master pads and replaced them.

My rotors are being resurfaced today at Pohanka Acura (VA).

Should I be asking for new pads? If so, why? Do they wear funny once the rotors have warped?

Car has 14K miles.

I specifically asked about the pads and they said they were fine.

Not too worried. I have a few years of my warranty left should it happen again.
