Attn: '99 TLs with AEM CAI.........
I just ordered the AEM CAI from Tim (my very first order). My question to you guys is:
1. There is a piece (I am guessing the alarm horn) that is in the way of installing the AEM CAI, where do I remove it to?
2. Anything else I need to know before installing the AEM CAI?
3. How long does it take for it to get to NJ?
4. Do I need to buy the air bypass valve if I live in NJ?
It's not like I am installing it myself anyways. My boy j83 is going to install it for me.
Thanks!

The alarm horn can be mounted to the rubber piece that AEM gives you to go into that hole.
Just put the hole of the alram horn bracket under the arm of the upper pipe and turn it towards the left side of the car.
Next, your stock filter box has a mini-radiator designed to heat up the air quicker. It will have a hose coming from the engine into it and then back out to the engine. You will need to get a small piece of 5/16 inch pipe about 1 inch long to bypass the filter box.
Be careful, because once you remove the hoses, antifreeze will pour out and that shit could be HOT!! Put a cup underneath to catch it. Don't worry, it won't fill up too much . About 4-6 ozs. Put the piece of tube in each end of the hoses using the stock clamps and use join the two ends together. Bypass done.
Next, the lower pipe will connect to a hole being used by a wire loom behind the headlight. Remove teh loom and use that hole.
Check my pics. When are you doing it? Maybe I'll take a ride and help.

just get the bypass valve
what's $30 compared to a new engine (not replaced under warranty)
it's also a good piece of mind... don't have to worry about it if it starts to rain hard... TRUST ME... it will make you feel better. I drove back from Limerock yesterday under hurricane like rain and huge puddles and I was worried, but felt better knowing I have the bypass installed.

It might be a good idea to get the valve since the filter is so close to the bottom of the car. And it's not that expensive either.
