ass handed to me by saab 9-5

i dont want to hear about irresponsibility and how i'm responsible for singlehandedly affecting everyone's insurance.

but sometimes when the conditions are right (no traffic on a 4 lane highway) and someone's front'n hard, you have to find out firsthand.

i was driving by myself on the freeway heading home when a saab 9-5 rolls up. looked nice...factory kit..kind of like that viggen edition. the guy gets up next to me and paces me...now i know the effort to get up to me and pace me is a sure sign that he wants to roll.

so it was on...from 75 up to 100 dead even...105...uh-oh...he's now pulling away. SHHIIIIIIITTTTTT!!!! i got up to 120 and we saw traffic ahead so that was the end of it but by that time he was 2 car lengths ahead and pulling.

i get home and do some research...saab 9-5 aero top model...230hp (i can hang with that) and 258 lb/ft of torque. OH MY GOD!!! and then add the fact that he's lighter...

now i know not to mess with 9-5 aeros...lost cause.

i wish i had waited a year for the TL Type-S.

Better yet, i wish i still had my now-deceased 95 supra...but then again, he wouldn't have dared. 167mph...YEE HAW!!!

oh well...thinking about trading in my wife's accord and giving her my tl and getting another built-up supra.

Wow, 258 lb/ft torque?!? that's alot... hmm... how much do SAABs usually run? I see them around occasionally, and back in the day, my uncle used to have one... but how is their value, or performance?

thanks.

I was also looking at SAABS but I read they have too much torque steer.

In addition they overheat and are prone to breakdown.

What's the point of having high torque if you are in the shop alot??

BTW. I finally test drove the TL. It was fantastic. I'm going to look at the Maxima 20th Anniversary to compare. But I think I'm gonna get the TL.

I used to have a 9000 Aero, and that car moved. But there is a lot of torque steer and there is a serious turbo lag, but a lot of fun to drive. However, not fun to fix. I had to replace the clutch and the muffler.....big $$$$

According to car-stats.com, the TL should run with a 9-5, but we all know the limitations of the TL at high speeds.

I personally hate the way the Saabs look. I think they are on the ugly end of the spectrum.
