ASpec body kit

Hey guys, I've just picked up my car about 2 weeks ago and after speaking to a few of my friends, I'm getting to be very worried about the body kit. They told me to be very careful with the body kit and the ASpec emblem. Alot of car thieves will steal the body kit and/or emblem in just a few minutes when they see an ASpec parked somewhere. Anyone has any ideas what I can do to protect the body kit and the emblem? I'm thinking of having the emblem removed by a body shop. Or am I being too paranoid?

If you're that worried, park it in the garage and don't drive it.

Sh*t happens, man. Just don't park in shady places.

Hey P. Adrenalin, I know that sh*t happens, but if there is anyway that I can protect the body kit from being stolen (other than not driving it ) I will do it. As of now, I don't think that there is an alarm that exist that will cause the alarm to go off, if a body kit gets stolen. Anyone can just rip off the kit in less than 5 mins (my guess). Sorry, guys, if I get worried too much.

BUT, P. Adrenalin, you do have a real good point. If I'm worried too much, don't even drive it. Of course, I can't do that I guess I just got to be careful on where I park my car in the night.

A-spec emblem is easy to steal since it is just double-sided tape. Lots of ppl have lost theirs already. To get around it, you can debadge your car

I don't think anyone is dumb enough to steal a kit. It takes time and you need to jack the car up to do it. If they want to steal your kit, may as well steal your whole car. IMO that's easier

Get an aftermarket alarm system or add some motion sensors to your existing alarm. I have clifford intelliguard 7000. Worthy investment, especialy since I live in NY.

Thanks guys for all your input. I'm planning to debadge the ASpec and changing the stock alarm. I spoke to a few of my friends and they have yet to see an ASpec around here. Maybe it's just not too many around here.

I don't think it's the fact that it's an "A-Spec" I think it's the fact that it's a TL. They steal the Type S and Acura emblems here.

Perhaps you don't know how much work is involved in taking off the body kit. I mean, it's not like installing headers, but by no means, it's an easy task.

I think any sane car thief would steal the car before they sit in the parking lot working away at the body kit for 15 minutes.

change your comp. deduction to $0.00 or $100, i change mine to 100 after reading about the HID thiefs. It raised my rate 50 bucks a year.
