Armor All sux?

http://www.303products.com/techinfo/...esareblack.htm

We had a lively discussion about Armor All on the Mustang sites, as I have seen some data that suggested it did more harm than good. Nutz and Boltz reported premature sidewall cracking, and the explanation from 303 explains how that could be.

I also discussed it with a polymer chemist at a major chemcial mfr, and he said it did break down carbon chains, and once you start on it, you have to slather it on regularly or things get brittle.

I am using Meguar's 42 and 303 from now on.

BTW, the Cobra just ran a 4.5 0-60 and trapped at 111 mph in the 1/4! With better track rubber, could dsee low 12's.

I still do not have build date, but like;ly in next week or so.

How are my babies doin - trannies holding up any better? Still looking for the best light bulbs? I love you, man!

Wow, I only put gunk (Meguiar's Tire Gel) on my tires to make 'em look good. Didn't know I was also supposed to be protecting them. Since this is for protection also, what's the easiest way to do the inside wall of each tire?

When did you figure this out?? I stopped using all their products years ago. You might as well coat some jerry-curl jiuce all over your dash and tires.

yes i am using that too...but it's VERY expensive...i would say it's the most expensive tire gel u can find in the store...
they just have a new "high-gloss" came out while the orignial gold class is already amazing...

Armor all on tires only last for 3 days...

meguiar...2 weeks if no raining...

Man, I've been putting Armor All on everything -- tires, dash, leather, windows, carpet, my kids -- do you think that's a bad idea?! Of course, I'm kidding. I haven't used that stuff since Hyde was a kid.

Road Rage -- miss having you around to slam some knowledge on us! Thanks for the info.

Regarding your Cobra -- YOU SUCK!!

I was warned by my body shop guy about Armorall. It really does more harm than good. Instead I use Lexol. Really great stuff.

Okay, I'll finally pipe in and admit, er... stand up proudly for the fact that I still use Armor All. I have used it to detail the interiors of my cars for years, and I think it works great. As the bottle says, it "protects and beautifies"! No problems here with Armor All.

I use Armor All Tire Foam and Extreme Tire Shine on my tires and haven't had any problems. They look black and shiny at least for a week, which is how long I typically go between washes anyway.

I use Meguire for the tires and dash, and Zaino for the leather seat services. Armour All is shiney and people like it but are not informed.

I do suck! It is awful being me...

Now, MM&FF reported a 12.43 at 113 on stock tires at Englishtown! So If I am not careful, the sudden accelration may cause an appendage to become proximate to my oral cavity, inviting me to masticate on myself!

How do you guys get along without me? I see we are still discussing bulbs, waxes (sorry daryl.com, Polishes), and the like. One thing about having a manual tranny - when it fails, you know it - it is on the road behind you!
