Arm Rest Rattle Problem

Does anyone have this problem: the center arm rest rattles if you extend it. Anyone found a solution to stop this annoyance?

I haven't had this problem. I do have a word of advice.... I'll just remind you of an old joke:

a guy walks into a doctors office and says: "Doc, my arm really hurts when I do this" and shows a motion with his arm. The doctor says: "well, don't do that any more!"

I may have gotten the joke wrong, but the gist is there. Have you tried clearing all the crap that's accumulated in the armrest storage over the years?

Make sure all the little screws on the bottom of the arm rest are tight. Mine came loose several times.

What he said PLUS try a little white lithium grease on the contact point of the latch. I tried everything from taking the entire mechanism apart to shims, but the lithium grease is the only thing that still works.
