Not sure that the bumper has to be replaced , can't they repair it. Had a crack in the bumper of my previous car from a minor accident and insurance company would not replace , only repair it. Looked as good as new.

If you could take the bumper out yourself, it would be a lot cheaper and better for you. There is DIY for bumper removal, and it appears to be straight forward.

My car is the blue. Not sure if it's considered pearl, but its an '03 TL-S w/ Navi.

As for repair...I rivited on a small piece of metal on the underside of the bumber, on the black part where black vertical pillars are. I then drilled a very tiny hole where the crack ends in the bumber so it will not get bigger with vibraton. That should work temporarily but several of the vertical black plastic pieces are broken where they meet the bumper too. There is to much damage to repair and have it look nice. I plan on going to home depot and getting a good epoxy to glue the verical plastic pieces abck together. Hope that works till I can save some cash to get a new bumper.

As for replacing it myself, I am pretty handy and sould have no trouble doing it myself. I guess the next question is can I buy a pre-painted bumper from the dealer? Or do I just ahve to let a body shop color match. My car is kept in the garage and mostly a covered car port at work so the paint is still in really good shape.

Thanks

Dealers don't sell pre-painted bumper. If you requested them, they will match the color code of your car, painted by third party.

Had Mine Replaced

Somebody backed into my TL in the parking lot and actually paid for it. To replace the front bumper (OEM) including painting was $850. That's was in Michigan last month.

if it's just the black verticle things on the center of the bumper, why don't you remove them all and put a mesh on it
