Angry Argh

I just got my new 6000K HID bulbs from xidexpress (same place MadCat got his). I had them installed at the dealer. I watched the install. They turned on the lights and it was amazing. And then the left buld exploded! AHHHHH!

Just venting guess... I really wanted to get them installed. Now I have to go through the hassle of returning them then waiting god knows how long to get a new pair.

Does anyone else have experience with hisexpress' products?

Thanks,

Joe

Thats a first, coz i have used aftermarket hid bulbs in my previous cars and never had any trouble with them . One thing that i think could be the cause of this can be , if greasy hands were used to install the bulbs. If grease or any sort of oil gets onto the bulb it will explosed once its turned on. The grease will turn hard and crack the glass thus leading to a blown bulb. Good luck

Yeah, I knew that and didn't open up the case the bulbs were in. And that was even the first thing the tech asked me.

To be fair to HIDexpress, they're being really helpfull about the exchange.

If anyone cares I'll update as needed.

Thanks,

Jeo

Talk to the dealer. They might have screwed up and touched the bulb with greasy hands and didn't clean the bulb after install.

Yeah, they are under warentee. I just hate waiting. I was really excited about getting them. It was an Acura tech who did the the install but he didn't charge me anything.

Fattms: I tried for about 2 minutes to changes them myself but got paranoid. Electrical stuff freaks me out. Did do my own CAI, short shifter (on my old GT).

Thanks,

Joe
